New engine

Recommended Posts

Why do that ?

About 60 to 80% cost of a car is that of it's engine.

When you have decided to change that major item, why not go full hog and

get a new car ?

Why mate a new engine with an old chasis (which may have outlived it's life

internally and structurally even though it may appear to be in good condition

externally) ?

If you are very particular about a specific make or a model or a color or the

variant of your existing car, you can always get the best possible deal for a

similar make/model/color/variant old (but... new !) car.

Moreover, there aren't any reliable mechanics/workshops who can do a

bullet-proof job (like what you get out of a manufacturer's shop floor).

Sell the existing one and get a new car. And, enjoy the ride right from day one.

Okay , but let's say that the car is just 2 years old and already clocked 60,000 kms which means that half of the life of engine is already over . Not considering the price as a factor won't the vehicle service center replace it on demand?

yes the service centre people will replace it with new engine but it may take time to deliver the new engine cos it has to specially come from manufacturing units if its a imported engine or car then the waiting period will be long and as said by

  • rameshbabu.n and LeoRahi my opinion is also the same you should look for new one also whenever you go to service center to change the engine. If you are very particular about a specific make or a model or a color or the variant of your existing car, you can always get the best possible deal for a similar make/model/color/variant old (but... new !) car.
