rameshbabu.n
Sold our MARUTI ESTEEM VX (12/1999) moonbeam silver car yesterday. Odometer : 30,288 kms only. Of late (i.e for the last three to four years), it is giving me trouble. And, parts are very very difficult to source. Brake Booster kit, Wheel Bearings, ICU, Front Passenger Window motorised channel (of power windows) etc., were to be replaced. And, Maruti is of no help at all. Totally dis-satisfied with their replies and inaction. Small parts (available locally after inspection by a mechanic) are OK but the important ones are difficult to get. Exorbitantly priced, if at all available with Maruti. Trying to get a buyer for quite some time. Luckily, a die-hard auto mechanic came my way and he bought it after seeing the condition of the car, which ran hardly 30,288 kms in 14 years and 05 months. Yesterday he came, paid the agreed amount, and took away the moonbeam silver sedan. Relatively new battery and five radial tubeless tyres (both less than one year old) and recently replaced Brake Booster kit have resulted in the car running smoothly. No major problem or even minor problems. So, he was happy. And, we were happier. But, sad to see a gem of a car (with very little use to us now) leave us. But, that's the way of life ! Thanks to our primary car (Xylo E8), we used Esteem very very sparingly. As both our sons are 6 feet plus, we always preferred Xylo. And, we thought, instead of leaving it like that, we may as well sell Esteem and make some space for another new-gen car. All papers signed and given to the buyer. Informed RTA Hyderabad-EZ where it is registered about this sale transaction by a separate letter/eMail. So, that we are no longer responsible for the car's running and the outcome of it. Just thought of sharing this info with all of you.

sibasis_FIAT
Maruti Suzuki Esteem, during its time it was one of the elegant cars around. It went through a number of minor cosmetic facelifts and some major too. In Odisha State, the current CM Mr.Naveen Patnaik used an Esteem for his official travels during the year 2001 to 2008. Later he switched to a SX4.

archit
things have changed since i last logged in here couple years back... back then i had a Civic 2.0 in Bangkok then an Innova joined it there. Then got a Manza in Patna and a little later a Xylo as well. Then got an Innova in Delhi then a cute little i10 automatic joined it here. Now as it stands only the Manza in Patna and the i10 in delhi remains. looking to add a 7 seater to the garage in a month or so.
