2016 Toyota Landcruiser facelift leaked

Recommended Posts

Here are some leaked pics of the Toyota Landcruiser facelift. Though its not clear if these are real pictures, these could be renderings.

According to the circulating render, the huge grille with a huge chrome bar at the middle really attracts attention. The headlamp came with 2 projectors lens, LED DRL, and new square shape foglamp. Surely if the actual looks like this, it is one of the most weird looking Land Cruiser we ever see, due to the grille and moustache accent.

At the interior, we could see a new center console with a huge monitor display. The amount of buttons in the center area shows how many features it will have. The instrument panel also new, including a new rear entertainment system in form of monitor to entertain rear passengers.

For something that costs upwards of 1 crore in Indian currency, this is one hideous looking SUV. Not that Toyota is famous for its designs, they could have certainly done a better job than this when it comes to their flagship offerings. Maybe taking help from their Lexus counterparts can help but such a capable vehicle certainly deserves a better silhouette.

So Toyota has launched the three-door Land Cruiser Utility in UK. It's powered by a 2.8-litre D-4D turbodiesel unit that makes 175hp and 419Nm, paired to a six-speed manual transmission.

Toyota has begun work on the next-gen Land Cruiser - its full size, go-anywhere SUV. The Land Cruiser has an almost cult-like following and that explains how the current generation model  (J200) which was introduced internationally back in 2007-08, with only a few updates along the way, is still on sale in multiple markets. The next-gen Land Cruiser will be the first generation change in over a decade and with this change will come a new 3.5-litre, V6 hybrid powertrain which will replace the current V8. The new car will also feature new interior and exterior styling, though the exterior design won't stray too far from the tried and tested/ iconic Land Cruiser shape. I have come across some renders of what the next-gen SUV could look like and I have added them below. What do you guys think of these renders?  Will the next-gen model still appeal to current Land Cruiser enthusiasts?
