Recommended Posts

Yet another rendering of the new T-Roc SUV. However, interestingly the article claims that this is actually the production model rather than a rendering that was accidentally published in Car and Driver magazine.

Volkswagen's just revealed the sportier version of the T-Roc - the T-Roc R. It gets the EA888 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine from the Golf R, which is tuned to 300hp in the T-Roc R + it also comes with an all-wheel-drive system and a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission as standard. It sits 20mm lower than the standard T-Roc due to its lower and stiffer suspension setup.

The T-Roc R gets sportier bumpers, an anodised finish for the radiator grille, matt chrome mirror caps, R badges and 18-inch alloy wheels as standard; with an option to upgrade to 19-inchers. It also gets the Golf R Performance's large discs brakes and a quad-exit exhaust layout, with an option to upgrade to an Akrapovic system.

VW claims the T-Roc R can do the 0-100kph sprint in 4.9 seconds.

You can take an up-close look at it in this walkaround:

Volkswagen is not too far away from launching the new T-Roc SUV in the Indian market. In international markets, VW has a sportier R variant on sale, which gets more aggressive exterior styling and a sportier setup when compared to the standard SUV.

Are you guys eager to see the T-Roc launched in our market?
