Hyundai Bayon SUV rendered: NEW images

Recommended Posts

In a brief recap, the Bayon is Hyundai's new small SUV for Europe and while it is still to be revealed, there are some renderings doing the round on the web being purported to be the final production SUV.

As per the rendering, the Bayon’s styling is in line with Hyundai’s other new SUVs, with a split headlamp setup - evident even from some spy photos though the large grille in these is more D-shaped than those seen on current Hyundais. The triangular-shaped housing for the main headlight units and vents is definitely unique - the blurrier images seem to be slightly older and lack some details of the newer one. A secondary slot-like opening sits between the high-set DRL clusters at the base of the bonnet – similar to that on the facelifted Kona. A faux skid plate sits at the base of the grille and of-course there is cladding along the wheel arches and lower door areas to give it that crossover vibe.

Rear styling is quite distinctive with those arrow-shaped tail-lights connected by a light-bar - confirmed by teasers - running the width of the tailgate. The tailgate itself looks quite busy with its sectioned off design – there’s the rear windshield, a blacked out section and finally a body colour strip at the base.

In profile, the Bayon seems to get a coupe-like profile with a tapering roof-line, and a unique design bit is the C-pillar which looks triangular in design owing to the rear quarter glass. The wheels are the same design as the Euro-spec i20 - the car it is expected to be based on.

The interior is almost identical to the one in the i20, with a freestanding touchscreen almost melding into the instrument binnacle.

The renders have come from a publication in Europe
