sahil4456 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2008 Ford has launched its new ford fiesta with a facelift its called the ford fiesta 1.6S.It launched on 19th June 08. This facelift was launched inBrazil last year. Many people had complained on the plain looks of the Present Ford Fiesta. The facelift answers all the critics and makes it look sporty. A note about the interiors - you're better off checking it out in person than judging it by the pics! But one of my friends checked it out in person and it looked much better. What was *really* impressive was the fit and finish on the door panels. The texture and feel looked and felt really good. The 'honeycomb' instrument cluster looks good enough too. The alloy wheels look great.

sameer08 0 Report post Posted June 24, 2008 The suspension has been worked upon by Ford the most... which could explain the same engine 100 BHP but a much better feel on the road... those for the diesel fuel efficiency can always go for the duratorq version ... mehul_bhp 0 Report post Posted June 24, 2008 well the new fiesta looks really super-cool....it has a sporty character and i really liked the interiors as well !!! but as expected ford has priced the diesel 1.4 at almost 8 lacs....well i am not an ***** to pay 8 lacs for a car which has a power output same as small car like estilo,i10 etc.....had expected ford to price the diesel at around 7 but at 8 itz too much for too less !!!! 5u3zEr0 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2008 Looks much better than the regular Fiesta. The paint job is really nice and the colour is similar to my Palio. Even the seats have a nice white thread running through the sides. They could have given better alloys and increased power though they have claimed to have tuned the suspension to make the car handle even better. bluesapphire 1 Report post Posted June 26, 2008 ya that change in suspension is i think only for 1.6 sxi S
rssh 59 Report post Posted June 26, 2008 Whats the use of change in suspension with the same power and low profile tyre it will be back breaking money also it a bad decision to go for stiff suspension without any engine tuning!!
speed 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2008 of late theres been lot of hoopla around the launch of "new" fiesta. but except from the advt. blitz, i dont find much new. just a few cosmetic changes here & there & you cant call it new. after years of presence in the indian market , ford hasnt yet been able to crack it. where competition has grown by leaps & bounds & are introducing latest designs with cutting edge technologies, ford is simply napping. ford has to shrug of this lethargy fast otherwise it will be fighting for a lost cause. who wished for performance? people are asking for efficiency & they are giving sports 1.6. i dont mean to say ford cars are bad, fiesta is a good car, but not in sync with competition. they can take a cue from their indian counterpart - mr ratan tata, when he says" future launches are not just going to be minor cosmetic changes" one has to really anticipate the market much before, time was ripe for new gen. fiesta which they have in europe. 5u3zEr0 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2008 Hey speed, I am still asking for performance than FE and I am sure there are other people like me but in a small minority that I agree. So I will be happy if manufacturers make cars for people like us who buy cars with their heart not head!
speed 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2008 5u3zero, i reffered to FE, in my post for ford to gain a wider foothold in market.
octane_100 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2008 First of all, when Ford was about to launch Fiesta, I was expecting a bit more. I was expecting a sedan with better styling, little more interior space (say in the league of Optra) and definitely better interiors than what my Ikon had to offer.... I was disappointed when they launched primarily by the Styling, size and the asking price for that combination. Also, their spare prices were still high and service still not up to the mark. Now, with this facelift, they have lost a chance for making up for all this;of ocurse they couldn't have grown the car into a bigger one but they could have definitely launched the new Fiesta which is being introduced all over the world!! Ithink they should learn more than a thing or two from the Honda guys who have refreshed their model lineup in terms with their international offerings!! If they don't, clearly Ford India is going to dogs.. But having driven the Ikon for nearly 7 years, i want Ford to succeed.... and i am now pinning hopes on the Focus...if and when it will be launched
speed 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2008 ya octane100, i share my thoughts with you. i usually go to check out & test drive almost every new car that gets launched, varying from a hatchback to a saloon, suv, muv , etc. i mean to say literally all of them, either on the day of launch or within a couple of days. but sadly, the new fiesta has failed to stimulate me to the level that i would want to go and have a test drive. you mentioned honda, oh they are light years ahead of ford. ford has only given old & outdated models to us till now, be it escort, ikon, fiesta or endeavour. im not even going to talk about utter failure fusion. for success , ford has to start building name from scratch. & for a start phase out, outdated models & bring in fresh contemporary cars. Don't you know??!!!??? They are bringing in the ""newly"" designed """Completely REVAMPED""" Ikon with new head lights and new bumper strip!!!!! rssh 59 Report post Posted June 28, 2008 Well Fiesta will no longer be seen if its launched with 1.4lt diesel(Ikon) .Also about the sport S I think with 75k more you get better Cedia sport whose spares are at par with Fiesta but is a segment higher . speed 0 Report post Posted June 28, 2008 cedia is a nice car , had mitsubishi given it a diesel, it would have ruled the segment.
bluesapphire 1 Report post Posted June 28, 2008 its not necessary because its service and spare parts are big hurdles... And even its lancer diesel cant succeed that much..
speed 0 Report post Posted June 28, 2008 lancer diesel did good in its prime. i still come across a lot of people who swear by lancers diesel . many have done mileages over 2-3lakh km, without any hitch.
