Yamaha R125

Recommended Posts

Yamaha R15 is made for India, based on the R1 looks. In Europe they have the R125. Its based on the R6 looks. Its got a 125cc liquid-cooled engine and 15ps at 9000 rpm. It will take out the competition but it comes at a heavy price  2,999.00 ?. A bit too much for a 125cc bike, but anyway looks rather cool.

I would think that if this bike were going to come to India it would sell around 75000Rs. This bike really packs a punch with 15hp. Thats more than the FZ16!!

Also if this comes to India I'm sure Honda will counter it with the CBR125.

Oh yes there is a CBR125. But doesn't look as good as this one.

Was just looking over the features and its seat is really high at 818mm. Thats how high the seats are on super sport bikes eg. 1098

This bike looks amazing but its digital meter is very simple when compares with other models of yamaha.. This doesnt look like a small engine bike - BUT IT IS. Just 125cc.

Lets see, whats so special about this bike?

I don't think this bike is suited for our roads. First of all the seat is too high for a 125cc bike, which means center of mass is higher and more unstable. Also look at the clip-on handles. Unlike the R15 they are flush with the tank, which means the rider has to bend more to reach them. Which means uncomfortable riding position, when you have to keep on starting and stopping.

The R125 has been made to take on all the 150cc bikes. Its top speed is 75mph

which comes to.........around 125kph. This is the speed shown on the speedo and

don't know what the error will be. But R15 has a top speed of 133kph which is

shown on the speedo. I also feel that the R125 has been made better. If the R15

had been made with this kind of quality I think it would have had more power and

a higher top speed.

Indian bikes have lots of styling in them. Yes they are all very cheap which is a good thing. I feel the Indian bikes will do well in international markets where people on learner licenses can only ride upto a cirtain cc.

if the price would be around 70,000 to 80,000 i dont't think its a good buy

if it comes to indian market then i dont think it is value for money

indian customer want value for money products

and spend 70,000 rupees for a 125cc engine

not a value for money

I hope that yamaha does not bring the R25 to India because if they bring it, it will cost 2 lakh and no-one will buy it. The R125 for Rs.70000 sounds great VFM as it will have the ability to smoke all 150cc bikes and it looks wonderful.

I'm now hearing that it would cost around 3 lacs, as it will come as a CBU.
