sgiitk 0 Report post Posted August 12, 2008 Tinted glass is window glass which is not fully transparent. The idea (legitimate) is to block out some of the heat and light. Film is often applied retrospectively. The law requires a minimum of 70% transparency in the front and rear screen, and a different level in the side glasses. (guru's may please correct me if the numbers are wrong).
5u3zEr0 0 Report post Posted August 15, 2008 Tinted glass also keeps out the sun's rays and heat to a certain extent and helps keep the cars cabin cooler.
speed 0 Report post Posted August 16, 2008 Most of the car glasses come with a little tint from the company, but aftermarket tints are also used to further the impact.

sgiitk 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2008 the side windows should be 50% transparent and the front windshield should not be tinted. It is illegal. atleast here in hyd I think the same MVA applies across the country. The minimum transparency for the windscreen specified is 70% and it is somewhat lower for the other windows.
