r15 top speed true or false

Recommended Posts

as a owner of the sport bike r15 i have a doubt the autocar india sept issue posted that the r15 top speed is just 124 km/h and that to it was performed on a track so i thought the rider would have achieved 145km/h due to the proper aerodynamics wind flow as told by yamaha and i know such a speed can be done then why did autocar say that r15 top speed 124km/h

The top speed of 124kph is probably the true test equipment measured speed as achieved by the Autocar test rider on the test bike provided to them by Yamaha while running on a flat test track, without any wind to help the bike go faster. If you see higher speeds on your bike speedometer, this is because Yamaha has calibrated its speedometer to show a higher reading to make you think your bike can go faster than it acutally does, or it will read higher because you are going downhill, or with wind assistance.

Yes. Exactly. So given the speedometer error is that much, doing the maths then will mean when the R15 is doing a real speed of 124kph, its speedo will be showing something like 135kph or even a little more. And thats even without starting to think of wind assistance or a slope in the road.
