rahul1810
@sgiitk Also have a look at Samsung S8530 Wave II. Might overshoot your budget by around 2000 Rs but it is a mighty good phone. Its a high end phone at mid range price. Unless and until you want a huge no. of apps. Nokia C7 is also very good, with new OS and a UI upgrade coming soon. creativebala
@SG sir If you are considering Galaxy3, you should have a look at Optimus1 too.  Another mobile worth waiting is Galaxy Ace, both its spec sheet as well as its looks are good  http://www.phonearena.com/phones/Samsung-Galaxy-Ace_id5145
sgiitk
OOps- it should have been Optimus One and NOT Omnia One. Rahul will look at the Sammy mentioned by you. I am thinking of going Android and this phone (primarily for my wife) will be a good trial platform. Spent the day getting to know Ubuntu. Found some more tricks, and also managed to do two main things - link in all by shared drives from other systems, and set up Firefox and Thunderbird to share data with the Windows versions. Also, released some space on my laptop to install Ubuntu tomorrow.
dineshzma116
Explored the chennai city with my R15. Great old days memory. I miss my bahrain track races. Noticed Toyota"s Prius at the Anna Nagar. Car is looking awesome except the backside view. Backview is giving me the assumption of "DRAGCARS". Good night ACI

BonFre
Enquired about BB, Voda & Bsnl give 400 & 275/month unlimited plans with speeds of 155kbps. This is 2G. Â 3G plans are expensive. Â CDMA like Photon/Reliance are still expensive at 800/-month. Â With 2G one has to buy a Dongle/stick for 1600-3k. Later is unlocked & any sim can be entered
creativebala
@BF, can you throw some more light on BSNL giving unlimited GPRS for 275/month for blackberry. I bought an Android mainly because BB's minimum unlimited internet charge was around 1k. Googled now, BSNL providing at 399 for 2G with a check   "Unlimited Internet Browsing-access limited to Blackberry smart phones", so can't connect laptop  a dongle with 2G card. The stick is costing ~ 2.5k fro micromax/others which are locked with the network & 3k for unlocked sticks that can be used with any other network. This is total waste of money. 2G is nothing but our normal EDGE we use in our mobile phones. That speed is not worth paying 3k for its dongle. You can simply connect your mobile through cable to get that speed easily.  PS- BSNL 3G tariff is ok compared to Airtel's. creativebala2011-02-03 10:14:
BonFre
CB, that's on a dongle with 2G card. The stick is costing ~ 2.5k fro micromax/others which are locked with the network & 3k for unlocked sticks that can be used with any other network. Â While Voda is giving the stick for ~ 1.5k & 399/- plan. Both are unlimited, speeds are ~ 155kbps.

BonFre
I was out already, got wet & enjoyed it even more! Rains had almost eloped, it would be great if it rains for a longer duration.
Durango Dude
@BF and Nishu: Remember to wear hard hats when you dance in the rain. Got a PUC certificate for my car after 5 long years. Occasion: to remove hypothecation (from RC book) to ICICI bank as the loan tenure is over. Chennai is still pleasant, alas no rains now, when you step out it's warm but not overtly hot. rameshbabu.n
Got my 12-yr old Esteem a clean dry-wash and then a bath at the nearby MASS.. Replaced a part of silencer (the first part - from engine to the midway). The third part (last muffler) is OK and the second part (the middle portion) is still in a damaged condition. Unable to get the second part in any of the four dealers/stockists. The one I got from Chennai is (I was so told) for a Diesel Esteem (new model) and not for my Petrol Esteem (old model). So, the poor Esteem is stuck with the old second part in between the newly installed head and tail. Checked brake oil and Engine oil. Topped up both. Nice feeling to drive again my old faithful Esteem after a fresh bath. I need to buy her a set of new floor mats. AC needs to be checked now that summer is round the corner. Durango Dude
While coming home from Central Station last night, I had chanced upon a white Aston Martin Vantage, he was *****footing the car just like the Bentley guy a few weeks back. My son wanted a pic so overtook the Aston but my son's Optimus P-500 has no dedicated button for the camera so what I got was a hazy washed out pic. Durango Dude2011-02-16 10:54:
Durango Dude
Took a backseat ride in an Audi A4 2.0 TDI today morning, very nice and refined diesel motor. But interior space rather tight, essentially a 4 seater, much lesser space than my Elantra, more like Verna. Durango Dude2011-02-18 07:02:
itssanguine
I got ESPN World Cup HD package for Airtel HD @ 150+tax = Rs. 165.00. Now no irritation from advertisement and added pleasure of watching cricket in high definition. Recommended.
