Just few minutes I've also cleaned my Room Split AC's(AZURE 1.5TR) filters, etc as its cooling wasn't seems to be satisfactory w.r.t the last year when it was installed.

DIY with EF Vaccum cleaner & l'll bit of washing its filter mesh.

& Now its working absolutely fine.

Congrats alot sg sir for your New cooling unit-Hitachi AC.

Hope Power cuts will not play spoilsport with its working.

Became a Professor Saab like sgiitk today. Had been to the local University Valuation centre to spot value MSc answer papers. Had a tough time as the hall in a local institution was not so cool inside. The coolers and fans were too inadequate to insure the occupants from the sweltering 44 degrees Clesius outside.

The University prefers such spot valuation by a huge chunk of valuers, contrary to the answer paper packages that were sent to the residences of valuers earlier till more than a decade ago.There was a mega scam detected and now they play safe.

The job was a change for me and I got into academics after a gap of 2/3 months.Its soothing to study and prepare the basics of your subject and then go for such a job.

Today the commercial vehicle fleet is going to increase from 13 to 14,with the new addition being a Ashok Leyland 3014.The truck is scheduled to arrive home by 10:30 and will be welcomed with a small Hawan of Ma Jwala Ji.Then I'll take its test drive(I drive trucks too)..

Semester exams are on,and the mathematics exam was great,I HAVEN'T DONE THE PAPER,BUT THE PAPER HAD DONE ME...smiley36.gif..hoping to get only 50...Next exam is Mechanics,and its being my favorite subjected is prepared quite well.TSiVipul2011-05-26 03:27:55

I remember giving the mechanics paper 2 years back . Mug up all the formula's and score the maximum in Truss and stress analysis .

I have had maths in 4 semester and all I can say is that , the maths in engineering is a tough nut to crack , hell the whole college had an average of 35 on 100 in 1st semester and the topper had score 63 marks !!

@Rssh,then I am quite better than your topper with a score of 83 in the first sem,and 33 in chemistry..smiley36.gif..

In terms of stress-strain analysis,I have done everything and left the SFD and BMD(shear force and body moment diagrams)..CG(center of gravity) and MI(moment of inertia) are my hot favorites.

This mechanics paper really requires quite mugging up..else you may be ready to spend three hours in the examination hall sleeping..TSiVipul2011-05-26 03:39:44

Yes our maths department is very strict .  In mechanics paper w/o reading the full question I used to make a FBD which gives about 1.5marks out of 6 marks before even looking at the question .

I can relate to sleeping on some of my examination ,in which my whole class was smiling for 3 hours looking at each others faces .  BTW whats your branch ? Is it civil or are you in 1st year.

One thing which you may need a few years down the line. I was having a lot of problems with inedequate airflow/cooling and everybody was at sea. Then a real old timer and guru showed up. After struggling with the normal things he opened up the front cover of the indoor unit. This is not normally done, and involved undoing some screws. Lo and behold the blower blades were clogged. A quick cleam with a brush and things were back to normal. The problem is than in normal servicing/maintenance you do not open the unit to expose he blower.

Truck welcomed,just now bought 12 tyres for the trailer and a spare tyre for the truck,now the whole day is going to be extremely busy as paper-work is to be completed,vehicle has to be given some final touches and have to sign the contract with Birla Tyres(Haridwar) for 1 year.

@Rssh:

Even I too love looking at others and smiling in the tough papers but I always do it in last half hour to attain some extra marks on the name of friendship and to do some social work(Help others getting passing marks...)Actually last minutes are quite light because invigilators are somewhat loose at that point..or say "They too become co-operative".

Mine is Mech. Engg. first year.

Yes, I've opened its top cover first. Its liftable like car's bonnet to expose the Plastic Mesh filters & then Blue-fin condensers, beneath the latter is its blower which is visible from its Air-outlet duct(as its an split unit).

So, cleaned them sequence-wise -cleaned & washed its filter mesh first, then only Cleaned its condenser coil & blower with Pressurised air jet.

Similarly cleaned the condenser coil of Outdoor unit also with Pressurised air.

Even our AC mechanic services out another Old 1994 Assembled window AC in the same way i.e: after removing the AC assembly from its Window frame opens its top cover first to expose all of its blower, compressor, etc & then cleans it with Pressurised air(by blower) then with Water jet.

And that AC is also performing very well till to date, except its compressor's Crankshaft is getting tad noisy now. So with the arrival of New Split unit last year shifted that AC to another room.

@Tsivipul

Its good that you do social work in the latter part of the exam (still watchout). Since you like mechanics you should be able to find fluid mechanics easy . But hell you guys make too many drawing sheets in 2 and 3 years .

That a great price @ Driftpunk? you got one for . If mobility is not a must then I would have suggested you to buy a 1 TB segate HD for 3.2k (with adaptor).

Yes rssh' date=' the additional power adaptor is a pain to carry everywhere.

Drifty, you got it pretty expensive. I recently bought Seagate 500gb for 2k only!

Whoaa !! Which model is it ? Wow man, that is such a good deal. Is it without external power or with it?

@Rssh:

Mechanics is good,but AUTOMOBILE ENGG. is better(not allowed to leave Meerut by parents,because they knew that I'll become something else but not engineer if away from themsmiley36.gif).And yes,that latter part service has many time made me leave the classroom with my copy handed to the teacher 15-30 minutes before the time,those teachers really seems to be heartless in the examination hall...smiley36.gif

Those drawing sheets really disturb the mind..I never understand what are those HP,VP etc etc...those sheets have got the hell out of my head(because I don't take mind to the lab)...

My question is not about model,but I just wanna know that from where have you bought it?

Were there any discounts?

Because I saw the seagate 500gb drive for 2.4k...and the shopkeeper told me that there is no other model from seagate cheaper than this...TSiVipul2011-05-27 08:27:42

Started watching How I Met Your Mother, Season 1. What an epic series. The first episode itself glues you to the season.

Robin Scherbatsky is super beautiful. You'll realize in the first episode itself.

Any one of my fellow ACI-ans watchin HIMYM ??driftpunk2011-05-29 14:32:28

@drifty I have watched all the episodes...5th season is a little boring but otherwise a very good series. Would recommend Big Bang Theory and Two and half Men

EDIT

Saw the race and what a grueling race it was. Excellent drive from the top 3. Also read the June issue of ACI. Great reviews and comparos. Especially felt good after reading Verna vs ANHC review smiley2.gifrahul18102011-05-29 15:12:27

Yeah I know, DTH is the way to go but Im using cable on 7 T.V's in my premesis, paying only 300/- per month! DTH will be way expensive considering this.

I used to do a lot of torrenting on landline BB but on a 3G limited connection, there's only so much one can do.
