Was blown away by beetle diesel (has 1.9 Tdi engine) VW should have launched this varient.
TSiVipul
Well, logged on to ACI after a really long time and as usual it has planted a grin on my face.. Today seen a used Honda city for my friend who lost his car in the accident.. The car is a white 'S' variant just 7 months old,its a 16th feb 2011 buy. Done just 16k kms till date and the owner is selling it as he has bought a VW Passat. What's great is that the deal is locked for only 6.9 lacs...while the car was 10.2 lacs on road Meerut at the time of buy.

Durango Dude
There's been no power in my area the whole morning, with a situation like this what do we do if you have an EV, thats run out of juice half way to your destination? I think we will need a extra 'charged' battery to carry along, just in case.In fact, my inverter ran out of juice. EV's are not meant for our country. asethi919
I went down to the car to retrieve my wallet that I had forgetfully left there last night. I see my neighbour dedicatedly cleaning his car. Now according to the weather predictions, it is supposed to be windy and it is supposed to rain for the next 2-3 days. Does it not make his efforts, futile? What I sometimes wonder is, as much as we love our cars and like to see them nice and shiny, what is the point of it all. Considering the pigsty our country is and the dust bowl type conditions that are prevalent most of the year, the chances of your car remaining in pristine condition are rather limited. So why do we bother with it? I have a guy hired to clean my car everyday, as I am sure most of us do. But does it really matter if he does anything or not? creativebala
Did 1500kms in around 24Hrs, half of it lonely in my Swift. Attended close relative house warming in Kanyakumari on 8th. Started around 12AM on 8th alone. The 700Plus kms highway from Tambaram to KK is awesome. The trip should have ended within 20hrs, but for the heavy pour in Madurai and continuous rain there after. Handling & Driver seat comfort is excellent. No sleepiness nor bodypain. Â Â Long live Swift.

creativebala
@dd, Thanks, than to say it as a Marathon session, I would say that as a Education Trip. I learnt lots in that marathon. More on that on my Swift thread.

About the marathon I'd say that these marathons true the true driving nirvanas and these have a true joy and experience of their own..they teach you a lot and they polish your skills at their best.I have the experiences of even 3000kms too and they taught me a lot and I am ready to make some more of them any day. sachins
A dampner !!! Well, just saw on TV, it has been recommended by economic advisory council to PM that Diesel rates should be deregulated as Petrol. Â If this happens then there would be an initial price hike of Rs 2.87/litre and then might follow similar trend as petrol. Also, there is talk of introducing extra tax on diesel cars. Â Excerpts (Source: CNBC Awaaz): Â "Prime Minister
rssh
I think the govt. cannot deregularise diesel price because the cost of living will increase exponentially and due to truck and bus strike it will do more harm to economy . Taxing diesel vehicles is the way to go forward ,Anyway I think that the govt should promote diesel hybrid technology and create incentives to the manufacturer who bring this technology to market.
TSiVipul
Okay guys,if we see more price hikes in diesel even then I'd provide you trucks for carrying your freight at low cost..... Now returning to the point, this diesel price dis-regulation story came to me too but it isn't a big issue until any action is taken by the government.I know that my words will make most of my diesel burner friends unhappy but those are damn true:- "Practically diesel needs a good at least Rs 10-15 price hike for those car owners as these people are really spoilt by their cars and they don't even shut them off in long traffic jams and keep on burning the fuel brainlessly with their ACs chilling them up and if you give them a petrol car then they are also evaporated.I think now a days cars are using more diesel than trucks and buses and tractors, what I mean is that diesel is subsidised for running economy but people are taking disadvantage of this". creativebala
What on earth can control the menace of Call Centre Shuttles? Just now a speeding Tempo traveller( driven by an SOB) fastly over took a car in down bridge( famous Kathipara ) that too on a curve in front of my eyes, the van toppled and a girl got a deep cut in her neck. Arranged Ambulance and driven in front of it clearing way for ambulance so that it could go faster.  PS- Is it possible to employ bikers to go in front of ambulance clearing way? I'm not exagirating, believe me, the ambulance was really fast because of me, all I did was wavered my hands to all vehicles in front of Ambulance to make way, I was just 200M before ambulance. creativebala2011-10-21 12:09:
