@sb & DD:

Thanks for the wishes.

But can't frame about the car yet as it's in the hands of MSIL guys. But I expecting it this month.

But bike was the urgent demand for the moment as my previous Pulsar 180 was stolen last November. And a motorbike was the immediate need for me for my daily Intra-City usage.

Congrats. Do start a new thread about it. The teaser pic is nice. Still I wished that you got the stolen Pulsar back

Thanks once again sb.

Will post a thread soon, as I'll get the time enough to write about it.

& Pulsar is a lost story now, even Police Investigation time period of 90days, after losing the bike is also over.

So, the latter fact was enough for me to take the decision of buying the Newer One.

Yes ! Its YAMAHA now.

Yeah R1, guess you have the complete picture clear in front of you!

Few things that caught my immediate attention are: Ideal height for comfortable ingress-egress, front seat nicely cushioned, front view exceptional, middle row legroom good, 2nd row seat back/recliner adjustable. Apart from this roof mounted A.C. vents, numerous bottle/stuff holders, ease of folding seats, etc. make the vehicle very user-friendly.

I could select Vdi if it comes with ABS, front seat height adjust, sliding middle row, keyless entry.

This car makes perfect sense and coming from Maruti it will hit the 'sedan' market big time. It's very practical and well made and good looking too instead of looking boxy or bulbous. First mover advantage to Maruti as the mini Xylo is still way of and won't be in the same league as the Ertiga in refinement.

Saw the video review of the Ertiga. Seems like a very nice car which will pick up immediately. I expect a waiting period on this one too smiley2.gif

The mini Xylo will only be a 5 seater. Maruti will always have this advantage of a bigger car which can easily seat 7. Sure its gonna cut into the sedan sales.

And @Bornfree: the thing I do not like about the cars these days is you don't get a rear wash-wipe unless its a top end. Its really a trouble driving a car without a rear wash-wipe with mud all over ur rear glass. Can still do without a defogger. Its a very important safety feature which can be included on the car at a cost... Would hardly cost a few grands extra!!

Came back yesterday night from a 1,441 km drive in our Xylo E8.

Over the last 5 days, I took it from Tirupati to Guntur (via Srikalahasthi,

Naidupeta, Nellore, Kavali, Ongole and Chilakaluripeta towns).  Picked

up our elder son there and visited Panakala Narasimha Swamy's temple

in Mangalagiri and Goddess Kanaka Durga's temple in Vijayawada.

And, proceeded to Hyderabad.  After a 3 day stay there, came back to

Tirupati (via Kurnool, Nandyal, Kadapa and Rajampet).  It was a nice drive.

Hyderabad to Tirupati almost non-stop drive except for a fuel filling and a

brief halt at Ontimitta (near Kadapa) where one can see Sri Rama's temple

in all it's spendour.  The uniqueness of this temple is that you do not find

Hanuma there (because it was built before Sri Rama met Hanuma).

It is such an old temple, centuries old.

Still unspoilt by commercialisation and mad-rush.

As usual, I got about 17 to 18 kmpl on the entire stretch with one AC unit

on for about 900 kms and two AC units on for the remaining 500 kms.

What about that Mumbai transfer ?

Except for 15 days in Mumbai, I am still in Tirupati for the last 4 months.

I had to go and report there, which I did.  Before that and after that, I am

on long leave.  Probably, I will continue to be on leave (most of the time)

till Aug'12.  I got sufficient leave to last till then.  In Sep'12, I am identified

for a posting at Chennai.  As you know, Chennai is only about 2 hours from

Tirupati.  And, it is OK with me working in Chennai, so that I can stay there

in Chennai for 5 days and get back to Tirupati for 2 days in a week.

Poor Xylo.  It is feeling the heat as I am taking it too often on very long drives

during these days.

@Ramesh,

You have almost driven more than 500Kms at a stretch, thats driving, that too on a Xylo is really good.

Do post various pictures of your trip.

A small piece of advice, don't drive too long continuously, atleast break for an hour for a good food and relax. Thats good both for your Car(to cool), you and your family( to refresh and stretch)

@ SB

What Ferrari , a Cap or a Scale model?
