speed
Oh my God! This is bad tactics, or are they giving discounts to push it out of showrooms, as buyers must have turned away after knowing about the faults. Also, it could be that imminent launches & festive season is on their minds. But , again the ones who must have bought it right before , must be repenting! bluesapphire
i think they are trying to sell old stock or stocks with problem otherwise why the are only giving on petrol 1.2 and not on other engine models and that too on only one variant... i dont know whether its defected or not but still i have a doubt that they are trying to sell stocks with faults.. Ashish
Hi Speed, Thanks For your reply.. I also wanted to know whether Fabia soaks Bumps Easily or it shatters people sitting inside.. Ride quality is most important for me, as Roads where i stay are tooooo Bad... I test drove Fabia 1.2 Mpfi but wasnt able to check ride quality over bad roads as the roads where i drove it were smooth without a single pothole or undulation. Recently i test drove Indica Vista Quadrajet as well, Its new Improved suspension system with Gas shocks really gave an excellent ride over bad roads.. So i was Curious whether Fabia will make my drive jerk free over Bad roads.. I own an Tata Indica Turbo DLG 2007 model and it not so pleasent to drive over broken roads.. Is fabia's ground Clearance adequate for Indian potholed roads? Can I put 15inch tyres to fabia to improve Ground clearance. Would it affect fabia's ride quality or performance, mileage etc. Please Provide me with Ur Valuable suggestion.. Thank you Buddy, Ashish.. Durango Dude
Your neighbour's will raise their eyebrow's if they see a Skoda in your parking space. But with a Fusion you will get nothing but sympathetic and confused looks. So you have decided to spend your money 'un-wisely', so best spend it on the Fabia, that would be the wiser of you 'unwise' decision.
mndvishnu
@ Ashish , Dont care ior bother for your neighbor's , like you are buying the car for your use and cause and not for your neighbor! Let me Remind you , the Fabia being a Skoda means maintenance cost will be high , and so is the spare parts , i rceently called up the Skoda showroom and asked the price quotations for the Classic model , and then i asked what would be the price of fog Lamps , to my utter shock she said 30k rs!!!!! whereas the Fusions Fog lamps will cost you around 3 - 4 k rs ! i agree that even fords maintenance cost and spares are high but not as high as the Skodas , the Fusion has a very good ground clearance , and very good power , the Mini MUV kind of Feel , comfort wise both are same! of course the Fabia looks more stlyish! I have said you the pros and cons , now think hard , test drive both of then in a single day also ask your family or friends to accompany you while you test drive and see which they like the Most and make the Majority call! Good luck!! Cheers!!
speed
Hi Ashish, you are welcome buddy. Skoda Fabia's suspension is generally good, it provides a cosseting ride over broken roads, bumps & potholes. Rather it has the best ride among small cars & matches upto some saloons in the higher segment. Always make it a point to test drive the car on the roads you frequently use, as you would be commuting most of the time on those roads only. Also, take the car over various terrain & drive till you feel satisfied. Yes, new Indica has a good ride. Fabia's ground clearance is ~ 145mm, which is not really high, but should not pose a problem, but remember to test drive it over the broken road you mentioned. Upgrading tyres to 15", would lower the GC, as wider tyres will be used. With wider tyres, handling would improve, ride would deteriorate, mileage & performance would take a slight dip. Its always advisable to go with the OEM size. Finally, test drive hard, untill your mind is laid to rest!
rssh
Don't upsize as it will damage the inner side wall when suspension travels to the full and axel problems may occur .If you wanna upsize then do with same original diameter but it will make bad ride and the GC may not improve .If you have bad roads then go for Fusion it may not be comfy but its a kind of mini-SUV . aptsat
Hi Guys I have not stoppped visiting the thread. For a very long time i had not seen any reviews on my question hence the pause for a while. I am extremely happy to know that there are so many Fabia fans. The entire thread has made me look at Fabia only rather than anything else. I might visit the dealer today itself and finalise issues on booking the vehicle. There was a question raised by a member that there are so many cars in the pipeline in the next few months and hence should one opt for Fabia at this point in time. If my review of the auto market is correct, i do not see any diesel cars being launched at this price and comfort at least in the next one year ??? Almost all cars are petrol whether hatchbacks or sedans. Would be happy if some one could confirm my study
mndvishnu
@ Aptsat i would prefer you to wait for the Hyundai i20 which is due in a month or 2 , and tell you what this is really more spacious than the Fabia and the maintenance and spares wont be as high as the SKodas fabia , hence please wait ,of course theres no harm in waiting and seeing no! Cheers!
bluesapphire
If you can wait than i20 will be here by december this year at the max... Wait, it will be stylish, build quality will be there, interiors will be good, it will be spacious and roomy, powerful and its Hyundai so A.S.S will be better and CRDi will be offered i think at the very beginning because diesel only will be a trump card from hyundai this time... pryas
Fabia and Fusion is good in its own ways , as one is like a mini SUV and the other super Hatch , i vote for Fabia as its very stylish and cute , but many of my friends who owns a skoda octavia and laura always complained about the too expensive maintenance cost and spares as BS n Mndvishnu suggested you , i too advice you to wait for the hyundai i20...... Regards, Priya
vibhor
as everyone has already suggested! yes, waiting for i20 makes more sense! :-)
speed
Yes, i20 should turn out to be superior VFM package to the Fabia. Also, if you can stretch your wait a little further, Fiat would be coming up with the fabulous Grande Punto which should be best in class.

mohinder
Fabia has a strong body, good space - you will feel that you are sitting in a big car. Price is high but seating comfort is very good. quality of interiors is also good. Fusion doesn't have the looks & quality of fabia. Ford service centers are more compared to Skoda. This is more important factor if you are not living in city. Ford extra warranty scheme is really good. skoda doesn't have one like that. Skoda dealership in Andhra Pradesh is a monopoly - in terms of service, its really bad. Service charges and spares are very expensive and repair time is also ridiculously long. Fusion is a value for money as others wrote. Though both these are hatchbacks, the difference is the premium price and premium quality of Skoda.
