Zal D 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2008 I was searching on google to find out the top speed of the FZ16 and one of the sites said that it was 132kph. But that is around the top speed of the R15 (speedo reading not true speed). So does anyone know if the FZ16 can really go that fast?

jmsr80 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2008 Taxes are very high in bangalore.. 75K is the on road price in B'lore..
sharash 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2008 Yes dude! I am from Bangalore and its ridiculously expensive!! 75k for a 65k bike!!!!
hsb_sx4 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2008 the bike will cost 65k (plus taxes) all over india. FZ16 is more of a street bike with high torque figures that will give it excellent city riding unlike its sibling YZF R15 which is a spots bike with higher top speeds but requires frequent gear change in city riding. however, the top speed would be in the range of other 150cc bikes (110-120kmph). hogslayer 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2008 The latest Autocar says its top speed is about 110kph on the speedo, so I expect to see a real top speed of close to this whenever we see a magazine with a road test. I only trust Autocar and OD for bike performance tests. The other magazines seem to be putting out fake stuff.
hogslayer 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2008 The FZ-16 will sell in 3 colours as per the new Autocar review, Orange, red, black. Which one do you prefer?
Zal D 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2008 Only 110kph! thats a shame, I thought it might be able to do 120kph
yamahaR15 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2008 http://motorbeam.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/yamaha-fz16-review.jpg' target="_blank">The Yamaha FZ16 has been a highly awaited bike and is a very important bike for Yamaha. We thought reviewing the FZ16 is as important as reviewing a new Maruti car, so we did not delay in getting our hands on the Yamaha FZ16. To start off this bike has striking presence. The looks of this bike will be a major reason for its success. We all know that the Pulsar 150 isint as great a bike as its sales figure suggests, its engine is not as refined either compared to the Unicorn but it does sell and how! One of the main reasons for the Pulsar 150 to sell so well is, it looks the part and the FZ16 makes the Pulsar look like a bike from last generation. After looking at the FZ16, i can confidently say that the bike is Definitely Male. Just like the Yamaha R15, the FZ16 has been wind tunnel tested for better aerodynamics. The engine is air cooled and uses a carburetor. A FI version would have made this bike really more desirable but then Yamaha had to price it sanely too. However the bike does ride pretty well. There is good amount of low end grunt, something which is missing in the R15. Though power of 14PS doesn
sharash 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2008 Thanks for the pics and the review dude.. looks impressive @ that price. I still am waiting for a more bigger engine say >230CC other than pulsar! Hope Yamaha think on these lines..
hsb_sx4 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2008 the bike looks smashing but i thing that mileage will be under 35kmpl un day to day conditions due to fatter tyres. anyway, i love the bike but wish it had bigger engine suited to its looks...
archit 2 Report post Posted September 25, 2008 this is a gorgeous bike I can only wish yamaha would sell it here
archit 2 Report post Posted September 25, 2008 orange or black!! i love dark colors
raceon 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2008 in bike India this issue they say its a good bike but after 7500 rpm IS NOT that geat and its not at all a highway bike. what does that mean?
sharash 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2008 It means the bike rattles after that rpm and does not have any juice left and since the bike is light on weight it does not stick on the road especially if you are on a highway.. This is a ideal in your face attitude city bike!
Zal D 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2008 I think what it means is that after 7500rmp the bike must be very unstable and by not at all a highway bike, I guess it means its just a normal 150 with looks. Meaning the engine can't take the stress travilling at 100kph.
raceon 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2008 i currently own a hero honda CBZ do you think its worth it trading my baby for the FZ.
archit 2 Report post Posted September 25, 2008 Yeah if u are in to looks only
Zal D 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2008 The FZ will be better than CBZ, in terms of looks, weight, dig speedo with dig rpm, mono shock and so on. But I don't really see a difference in power 14hp. Hunk and Pulsar have 14hp too. Wait for a little while, by then people might have written reviews about it too. If your CBZ is working fine then keep it.
raceon 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2008 ya my CBZ is super fine and fast, but the (looks, weight, dig speedo with dig rpm, mono shock ) all this is really something that makes this bike attarctive cause the top speed that i have clocked on my CBZ is
