Recommended Posts

smiley1.gifHi friends!!...M&M has launched the New BoleroVLX with CRDe Engine and a Special edition Bolero!!Most notable change to the vehicle is the substantially more powerful CRDe variant of the 2.49 Litre diesel engine which makes a very healthy 97 bhp with a maximum torque of 255 Nm available from 1800-2200 rpm.The new unit apart from being more powerful and fuel efficient is also a lot more refined giving a new character to the rugged workhorse from Mahindra.smiley17.gif

We get base Scorpio in Pun. for 7.5L, with such little diff., Scorpio makes much more sense.

Rear split/fold seats are still absent from Bolero.

Cheaper variants in future with CRDI engine would bring it in contention.

Great news vibhor one of the most vigilant members of this forum! As a Bolero fan, I should wait and watch.Let me see the test reports. The engine 2.49 L is the Peugeot XD3P 2498cc that powered all old Boleros, including mine. Its an excellent workhorse and can cruise all day long at 80-90 kmph. I am sure M&M have used this engine to add the new fuel injection technique.DI engines were being used by M&M since a few years for the Bolero. Lately, this 2498 cc Peugeot engine was down and out due to BS II and BS III norms, but I am thrilled that it is again back with a BIG BANG!

bolero is the mobility factor of rural india but the pricing is atrocious...a sensible person will buy the scorpio base version with that price but till the point m&m sells its good for the company !!!!
