siddhant
@vtec guy.......well that is exactly what i wanted to ask....it would be a facelift for laura in india? @archit-yes archit the laura we have in india is the octavis for the rest of the world because the octavia we have in india is the old generation octavia so in india skoda sells the old and new octavia(laura) side by side...... The VTEC guy
heres what i think - the octavia that we know in india will remain as it is.. probably even die after a year or so..remember its not sold anywhere else in the world so redesigning a generation old car just for india will not happen. there may be a possibility that this octy may be available in less price around 10 lakhs in near future. The pictures of the car that we see below will definetly replace the laura (for india) or the current octy available outside india. may be not immediately but in a year or so. may be then skoda will sell all three generations of octy together in india .. speed
I completely agree with Vtechguy, this car is an upgraded Laura(Octavia abroad). Present Octavia in India cannot undergo such huge upgradation, this will cost hell & compete with Laura! Octavia in India, will have minor facelifts & some more engine options with price cuts & that's it.
vibhor
the second to the last pic the estate's rear resembles to the XC90 personal opinion Archit buddy XC90 is bit bigger!...but it still looks like an estate!! really good pictures.. looks good. bit confused though.. isnt the laura the existing octavia in other markets.. so this model will replace the laura that is in India.. isn't it? Thanks vtec guy!.... ya....the octy is laura in european markets!....but i think it will relace octy in india only!
The VTEC guy
vibhor buddy.. i don't think it will replace octy in india..unless skoda wants to keep the current laura going on...

bluesapphire
Good interiors and front looks and this one is laura for sure(for india) as we all know that our Laura is Octy in rest of countries...So Expect our Octy to go around 8.5-9lacs, Laura Ambiente which is available at around 12.75l(so it can take place of Octy) and this one will take place of L&K....And this is called facelift with all new interiors and good front looks unlike the cars in india which changes its bumpers, lights and calls it facelift
vibhor
the rear practically looks same ya.....rear is almost same as the laura!...but front end is whole new n with fresh n very aggressive looks!..i love the new octy!..now just waiting for its launch..n to know its price in india!!! sgiitk
One basic query? In general a major redo is done about once in a decade. This is a second facelift. How old is the basic Octavia design? This should give is a clue as to when to realistically expect a full revamp. Durango Dude
This is a major redo. It will be for the Laura I guess. It's such a major redo in just about 2 year's. It looks impressive and expensive. If they now offer the old Octavia for around 9 lacs with petrol and diesel engine's it will be great.
vibhor
hmm..ya..right Durango!...this one is major redo!..but from outside its mainly from front!....both octys are good on thier own places!...this looks more expensive as u said...n our current octy is very very sporty lookin! This is a second facelift. How old is the basic Octavia design? This should give is a clue as to when to realistically expect a full revamp. Due to intense competition world wide, the norm for a mid life upgrade for mainstream cars is every 2-3 years, and a totally new car after 4-6 years. The current Octavia (or Laura) is about 2-3 years old so the face lift is normal. The old Octavia which is still being sold in India is dead world wide. I doubt whether Skoda India will discontinue to sell that as it competes against Civic and Altis. This facelift looks much better than the current car and I hope it will have some mechanical improvements also.
