cars4life
Mumbai based car customization outfit MKraft makes body kits for the Gypsy. Here is one such kitted out Gypsy that looks quite different from the run of the mill versions of this off roader. The body kit equipped Gypsy features a completely revised front fascia. Larger fenders and a matt grey paint job give the off roader a menacing appearance while the rear gets orange roll over bars to make for visual contrast. The orange theme extends to the bull bar at front and the side steps. On the inside, the Gypsy sees minimal modifications, with orange contrast finish for certain parts of the dashboard and a Momo steering wheel. The SUV rides on chunky Yokohama Geolandar mud terrain tyres, mounted on alloy wheels. Source
cars4life
Jeep Greyhound project is a Wrangler look alike based on the Mahindra Thar. Continental Automotive of Trivandrum have taken a stock Mahindra Thar, given it a slew of cosmetic modifications including a matte grey paint job, offset steel wheels, wider tyres, a revised soft top that is Wrangler inspired, front facing rear seat and revised front seats, spruced up interiors, revised front and rear bumpers, new front grille, turn indicators and new tail lamps. New side steps, a fuel can at the rear, a Runva winch and a hood scoop round off the long list of modifications. Source
cars4life
This 2007 Honda Civic has run 90,000 kilometers and has a host of mods A Rosso Scuderia Red paint job starts proceedings while a Mugen body kit give the Civic a meaner look. After market HID headlamps and tail lamps make it to the car. Under the hood, a cold air intake and a custom exhaust are two major changes. The car rides on 18 inch ADV1 replica alloy wheels shod with 235 section tyres. The stock Civic could do well with a suspension job, and the car we have here gets just that, with Bilstein items making for the suspension. The insides get leather seats, Mugen pedals, a custom music system and a Webasto sunroof. Source
cars4life
This Zen Carbon 3 Door has been given the yellow and black treatment and the interiors get a new steering, gear knob and the customary drilled pedals. The car rides on 13 inch alloy wheels and 185 section tyres. From here on, it’s pure overdose. The 1 liter-3 cylinder MPFI all-aluminium petrol motor of the car makes a humble 58 Bhp-78 Nm. This motor is dumped and in its place, this Zen features the G13B motor, which is essentially a 1.3 liter MPFI petrol unit with 100 Bhp of peak power and 112 Nm of peak torque. To make things even more interesting, racing camshafts, a custom intake manifold, a free flow exhaust with custom headers and a standalone ECU make this engine make good power right from 1,500 rpm to its redline of 8,000 rpm. Two words to sum it all up – Pocket Rocket. Source
cars4life
The Hummer is an off road vehicle that was spawned from a military vehicle, the HUMVEE, with the name being an acronym for High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle. While the Hummer H2 and H3 were large vehicles that needed football fields for garages and a gas station in your backyard, General Motors aimed to make the Hummer more affordable and compact. In other words, the American automaker tried to put together a Hummer for the younger generation of buyers. The Hummer HX was born as a concept in 2008, and has remained one ever since. While the Hummer HX may never hit roads or for that matter off road trails, its replica roams Indian streets. The Hummer HX inspired a bunch of off road vehicle enthusiasts to strip down a Maruti Suzuki Gypsy and build a replica as an ode to the HX. Also known as the mountain goat in off roading circles, the Gypsy is very maneuverable in urban traffic. To make it look like the Hummer HX, plenty of square and rectangular bits were added. The end result is a vehicle that looks quite butch while being compact enough for everyday use. At the front, the bumper was redesigned, and a bull bar and skid plates were added for a macho look. The real deal is with the headlamps, grille, bonnet and the windscreen. The headlamps go square while the grille is extended to give the design a sense of width. The bonnet gets a once over and sits taller on the donor Maruti Gypsy’s body, while the windscreen gets chopped to imitate the Hummer HX. The single cab cabin design gets extended to again mimic the cabin of the Hummer while the rear gets a soft top and a couple of seats. Body cladding assumes a more squarer design while mud terrain tyres do their bit to add to the overall muscular design. The rear loading bed is also extended to give the Gypsy based Hummer replica a sense of length. The Gypsy’s 1.3 liter petrol engine is retained and a free flow exhaust system is added. On the whole, the replica is a good effort. While off road cred of the replica is quite questionable given the many low hanging bits, on road performance should be decent enough. cars4life
The Hindustan Contessa, based on the Vauxhall Victor, had what it takes to become India’s Ford Mustang, but for its engines, which were piddly when compared to the big, petrol V8s that the American muscle car hosted. Big Daddy Customs has done up a Contessa from ground up, save for the engine though. The Contessa thus transformed is a replica of the Chevrolet Camaro, another muscle car from America that enjoys a cult following. The Chevrolet Camaro replica that’s based on the Contessa has been christened the Dark Knight. While it looks a million bucks, it’ll take an enthusiast to give this car the muscle it deserves. For now, the only concession towards performance is a free flow exhaust. Source

cars4life
The CJ or Civilian Jeep is a timeless design that came to India through Mahindra & Mahindra, who initially assembled kits imported from the United States, and eventually started building their own Jeeps under license from Willys Overland Corporation. The MM540 is one of the iterations of the Civilian Jeep, in this case the CJ5, which arrived into India with the Mahindra badge in the 1980s. New Mars Enterprises from Hyderabad has fashioned out a Jeep Wrangler based on the Mahindra MM540. This Jeep Wrangler Rubicon can be ordered with various engine options. Air conditioning and a fully functional 4X4 system means that this replica is actually usable on the road. Source
cars4life
This Gypsy custom is courtesy Sarbloh Motors, the brainchild of Jaskirat Singh Nagra. This Gypsy is for a customer in Hyderabad, who happens to be a doctor. Talking modifications, a 3.1 liter Isuzu turbo diesel engine mated to a five speed gearbox with a 4X4 transfer case propels this off roader. Heavy customization in the suspension, running parts and the body itself characterize this butch, highly capable vehicle whose pastimes includes clambering up walls. cars4life
Here is a good ol Maruti 800 modified into a convertible. It gets Flared wheel arches and side skirts along with black alloy wheels. It gets hheadlamps from the Fiat Palio and tail lamps from the Chevy Spark. On the inside, the yellow theme creeps in with similar accents on the seats, gearlever, and the steerig wheel. The dashboard layout is pretty basic, with AC vents that are likely to have been borrowed from the Nissan Terrano, and a considerably large infotainment system sitting just below them. The car, which has lost its rear doors, is strictly a two seater. And the cloth/canvas top can be folded on top of the boot, which means there’s no compromise made in terms of luggage space, which could have improved (in comparison to the stock Maruti 800) considering the rear bench is gone now. The steering wheel says MOMO on it, but looks a bit too tacky, and so is the gear lever. The headlamp and wiper stalks appear to be the original units from Maruti 800, which is a great reminder of the vehicle’s humble origin. cars4life
Can you even guess that this is a Toyota Fortuner. The owner has taken this to an all new level. The front bumper has been removed. The front grill and headlamps have been covered by a metallic mesh to protect them. That has been done to make sure there is no damage on to the radiator at the time of severe off-roading. The mesh also allows the stock radiator to function without any hiccup. The side step has also been removed to help the off-roading capabilities. There is a snorkel on it as well. The reason for this build was to have a go-anywhere camper van as the owner enjoys the outdoors a lot. The roof features a tent system which can be used for camping. There are cylindrical water tanks present as well. There is a ladder on the passenger side that helps you climb up. At the back of the vehicle, you will see a scooter mounted. The reason behind that is when the owner goes off-roading, he likes to take his scooter along to travel short distances off-road on it while he is camping. It is a 2 stroke Kinetic Honda which has been stripped down. This has been done to reduce weight and to make sure that there are lesser things that can go wrong in the vehicle. Under the hood, there have been no changes what so ever. The trusty and dependable 3.0 liter D-4D engine has covered over 1.5 lakh kms. The engine has run more than 30,000 kms after these modifications and the owner has faced no issue till now. The owner is now working on improving the interiors of the car. He also wants to add a fully functional chemical toilet in the car so that he doesn’t have to face issues on his trips into the wilderness.  Source
cars4life
Here are some pics of a modded Contessa Classic.  Truly known as the Indian muscle car. This car gets a matte grey paintjob. The bonnet gets  two prominent scoops. The front bumpers have made way for a cleaner face, which gets a revised grille. The grille gets horizontal slats and there are projector headlamps.  Sadly the mods are just cosmetic. What this car eeds is a big V8 engine.
