Silent Thunder
I think i'll post the next one myself.. But before that, a small typo in my previous post: The Hofmeister kink is used to indicate rear-wheel drive, not rear-engined layout(any Bimmer fan will possibly kill me for this, but i'm alive for now..) On to the question then: What is the link between Porsche and the Bugatti Veyron? (its got nothing to do with rivarly..)
rssh
They both use modern tech or is it something related to their evolution.
Silent Thunder
No, there's a more human link between them.. Remember, i said "Porsche", not

Silent Thunder
Yes Durango, Bimmers are RWDs, i regretted the typo in my next post.. Well, the link between Porsche and Bugatti Veyron is Ferdinand Piech. He is the grandson of Ferdinand Porsche, the founder of the company. He's also the man who conceived the 1000bhp, 400km/h car that later turned out to be the Veyron, which was widely criticized during its development stages but equally appreciated once it came out.. Remember the thing i said about Porsche not referring to the cars? The Porsche family sold their major stake of their share during the middle stages of the company's life to negate the family members from decision making stuff. Piech still has about 13% in the company stake..

Which car had the first transversely mounted engine-front wheel drive set up? I know this is easy for some of you who take interest in auto history, but others would be surprised to know the answer. Silent Thunder
Since it seems Afterburner is a bit hung up right now, let me post another question till he comes online again: Which automotive powertrain concept was developed in 1839, (not exactly for the automobile - the steam engine was fine by then) but hasn't reached production till now? By powertrain concept, i mean petrol engine, Hybrid etc. It may sound a bit weird, but this is probably the easiest question in this thread.. pryas
was it the FORD?
Silent Thunder
No pryas, i don't mean a company. I meant a different method of powering a vehicle. It doesn't belong to a single organisation. HCCI engines and Wankel Rotary engines would be fine examples. They are not related to the petrol engine or the diesel engine directly, but would do well to power an actual car..

Any other answers, people? I'll post the question again for your convenience: Which automotive powertrain concept was developed in 1839, but hasn't reached production till now?
