sgiitk 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2008 In my way of looking at things any car is 4 (or is it almost 5) years old, and has done 85,000 km is likely to start costing you for maintenance after another 25,000km and /or two years. So you keep this in mind. The fact that the car is unmarked only indicates meticulous (and lucky) ownership. But father time is the friend of nobody. bluesapphire 1 Report post Posted December 13, 2008 Look for car which has done around 50k ..i think that will be better option...
nikvint 1 Report post Posted December 13, 2008 I second Sgiitk & B.S., One should not buy a car which is driven more than 50k & it will give load of maintainance. So overall cost of ownership will be same. Try to get the car which has run lesser kms. All the best.
5u3zEr0 0 Report post Posted December 13, 2008 85,000 kms is too much of a mileage to buy a used car. There are many Corolla's for sales nowadays, I am sure you will find one with less mileage (< 40,000kms) if you search around.
morphin1 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2008 Well toyota engines are good till about 1lakh Kms. So 60-70k isnt a big deal.
Durango Dude 2 Report post Posted December 15, 2008 Sarabjeet: What you call a baby, sound's like a old hag to me. 85K is too much of a mileage for a second hand buy. By then it'll require all it's parts opened up for major surgery, and replacement.
dtandon 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2008 In my opinion - the corolla has built quality that's a notch above other manufacturers. The car you're looking at does have substantial mileage on it - but if its well maintained - it will easily go another 50-60K km without problems. Take a look at the service history of the car if available. Things like the mileage when the clutch was overhauled are a good indicator of how the car's been driven.
