thackervijay 2 Report post Posted December 18, 2008 what i have seen in these many years that cruiser bikes like enticer from yahama and avenger from bajaj, mainly known as cruiser bikes in india didnt do well in our market. Whats the reason for them not accepted by customers to buy one could be...????
rssh 59 Report post Posted December 18, 2008 Those who buy cruser bike first think of thunderbird etc and they want riding pleasure .The avenger and enticer can't be called old school cruiser as they have small height and are not a fun to ride as thunderbird also they can be called as city cruser as they are very comfortable .The fact is that their aren't many options for the market of bike whose demand is very less. The Yahama enticer is done away with.
Crazy cat 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2008 The primary reason is, most of the buy bikes only for commuting and not cruising. And also the FE of these bikes are less. But I think Avenger does good numbers in sales.
rssh 59 Report post Posted December 19, 2008 Its the only cheapest cruser bike with both 180 and 200cc varients .

[/quote'] Â Enticer and Avenger I would say are just good enough to clasify as "cruiser shaped comuter bikes" they don't have the oomph to cruise on highways for a longer time. probably thats the reason they don't sell much. evilweasel 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2008 i think it s more to do with the cost..ppl don wanna spend so much money on a bike...
thackervijay 2 Report post Posted December 21, 2008 evilweasel, can you be more clear by saying dont want to spend money on a bike, common mate people are already spending on bikes in india, and its a choice of communiting, which kind of bike one prefers.50k to 65k's a normal thing today ppl spend buying a bike. Durango Dude 2 Report post Posted December 21, 2008 In the 'nip and tuck' of Indian urban traffic, it's always comfortable driving a compact car than a sedan, so also with bike's it feels a lot comfy driving a bike with a short WB than a long one, otherwise you end bruising the bumper's of car's you want to get ahead off. Probably end up getting bruised yourself if the driver of the car you bruised catches up with you.
hapag 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2008 crusier bikes are painfull to ride in city conditions as they are low in height and have long handles to turn thus making it boring to ride in cities. But a big sized cruiser like thunderbird is superb to ride on highways, but the ultimate cruisers are harley davidsons
archit 2 Report post Posted December 22, 2008 true hapag!! harleys are the god of cruiser bikes!!!
thackervijay 2 Report post Posted December 22, 2008 yup hapag no doubt in that harleys are the god of cruiser bikes!!!!!!!!!!!
Zal D 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2008 Well harleys are ugly and boring. There are many better makers like yamaha just one example who make great bikes and you cant tell the difference from a stupid harley. The the best cruiser is a yamaha V-max
Crazy cat 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2008 But zal buddy, our only cruisers are Yamaha Enticer 125cc(not in production), kawasaki Eliminator/Bajaj Avenger(180cc/200cc) and RE Thunderbird.
thackervijay 2 Report post Posted December 23, 2008 CC thats what i've mentioned earlier they are the only so called cruiser bikes in india else then thunderbird we c on our country.
Zal D 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2008 ok so engine size is one thing but it is also the styling. The avenger is a true cruiser. Note small engine size but the styling and everything is a pure cruiser. RE is called cruiser but the styling is saying something different. If you have Aci 9th anniversary then look at the ad on page 10/11. First note the position of the rider...its not like a cruiser at all. Second look at what the ad is saying "which means more power (20hp)...and this is from a 500cc engine. Pulsar 220 has this much power. So avenger is the true cruiser in India
P_One 0 Report post Posted December 24, 2008 cruisers don't sell coz u can't corner the bloody things. with a wheelbase which goes from kutch to kathmandu and stupidly rakes forks and soggy suspension, they are nothing more than hopeless heaps which can only go straight. and in india u need a nimble bike. so they are stupid to ride in our traffic. and they are costing more and giving less mileage also. so why will they be selling? of course we don't like cruiser bikes
karan_4n 0 Report post Posted December 26, 2008 may be the cruiser bikes are meant to cruise.. but you don't find such roads and also the traffic on Indian roads isn't that smooth... so cruisers don't work.
