NANO down payment!!!

Recommended Posts

I'm really proud that TATA Motors has come up with NANO, the smallest and cheapest car. I'm sure many would find it really fascinating, including me and I would love to buy one. But, what I really don't understand is the down payment part. This car is aimed mainly for people who could not afford to buy cars that cost more!! When this car becomes a substitute for two-wheelers, ofcourse they would be happy to buy.

But, how would they have a ready cash of Rs. 70,000/- Someone needs to re-consider this down payment part, and should come up with a much lesser amount, so that it could be easily afforded by anyone who wishes to buy a car. Buying a NANO should be made comfortable to all!!!

The company has already made the car really affordable to common man. Tata has signed with various banks to finance Nano and anyone who desires to buy the car can take a loan from the bank. I think an amount of Rs 70,000 as down payment is pretty feasible if you think from the company's point of view.

I dont think buying a nano will be comfortable for a couple of years atleast.... smiley1.gif Unless TATA is able to flood the market which i don't think they will/can do...

I believe rather than the nano being a common mans car, initially it will be more of a prestige value car since its going to be difficult to get it easily...

Yes BS you are right.

If the booking amount is kept less (may be Rs.5000-10000/-), Waiting Period will be 4 to 5 years.smiley3.gifsmiley18.gif

smiley18.gif

Who will wait for 4-5 years for a car costing 1.25lakhs?smiley36.gif

This car is manufactured keeping Lower Middle Class People in mind.

If they have to wait for 4-5 years for the cheapest car before getting hands on it, its pity.smiley19.gif

Basically, if you can't afford Rs.70,000 you be better off without the car. How are you going to afford the petrol cost of running the car? Basically it'll become a situation where people are 'enticed' to buy something they can't afford and run; there will be foreclosure's <American style> and lot's of defaulter's of loan obtained. They are keeping the downpayment high to keep speculator's and defaulter's at bay.

sorry mate but TATA has signed up with SBI to finance nano, so you have to book it with SBI only and no other bank to finance your car.
