surendiran
I am planning to buy new car. City driving <200km per month and highway >800 km per month(to native) I am confused b/w WagonR and vista WagonR is old,but proven vehicle. Vista is new,but VFM,spacious and fiat Engine. give your suggestions. i10 is little overpriced.
tanmay87
i10 is bit overpriced but i10 kappa is best suited for highway driving. Vista is definitely good VFM but i would suggest you to go for i10 kappa.tanmay872009-03-09 09:28:
nikvint
Wagon -r will be replaced by Ritz in short period of 4-5 months. Though wagon-r is proven car it is not better than Vista except F.E. It is too light and soft for highway driving. Though it is good in city driving.. For your kind of usage I would suggest Vista from the two cars you have short-listed. All the best. Durango Dude
Vista MJD is the vehicle for you. Instead of buying Wagon R you go for a 'Tupperware' tiffin box. Instead of Wagon R you can also consider Santro which is a lot refined and better than the aging Wagon R. If you think i10 is expensive, so will also be the Vista MJD. I think the ideal choice for you would be the Santro.
sharash
Indica Vista anyday compared to the crap Wagon R!
rki2007
Vista is the best when compared to the old ugly wagon R. Moreover diesel is required for your usage. If looking at wagon R you have to consider the CNG . But wagon R is not stable in the highways.Fiat MJD Engine is better than the wagon R rki20072009-03-09 10:56:
DreamTheCar
I would personally advice you to for Maruti Suzuki WagonR. It is one of the best hatchback plying on Indian roads. The duo version of the car is really doing wonders in the car market.
sharash
Please tell me you are not joking dude!! Best Hatchback on Indian Roads??? ha ha ha..
rahul1810
I would suggest you to wait till april for ritz. It has got very good reviews in the countries where it has already been launched and will come with a brand new K series engine. But if you need to buy the car immediately I strongly suggest you go for Vista Saffire. It has a very good engine and is overall an excellent car. Also i10 is a little bit costlier than the two but still it is far better than both in terms of quality and engine. It is a very VFM package and has set new industry standards. Not suggesting a-star bcos of its space since you would be doing mostly highway driving
rishi-del
if u r not blindly mad about maruti then there is no reason to even shortlist wagon r ... in between i10 kappa , vista saffire ,and santro...i wud recommend i10 kappa for its no-flaws nature ...it is a car which has got everything ..power , space , build , sevice , and great peace of mind as it most reliable of the lot ...buy vista petrol only if u want more space badly....but u will not get as good quality which means reliability in long run might b a problem... u can also luk for getz prime ...if it falls in budget ....it is the best hatch for sure in its price range.. SO THE CONCLUSION IS ....... WAGON R....COMPLETE NO..WHY ?...SHEER CRAP IN COMPARISION TO OTHERS ..NO SPACE , NO STABILITY , NO REFINEMENT , CHEAPEST BUILD. VISTA PETROL ...BEST ON SPACE AND RIDE BUT NIGGILNG PROBLEMS , AND LITTLE LESS RELIABILITY , NOT GREAT QUALITY (AGAINST I10)..COMES COMPLEMENTRY WITH PACKAGE . I10 KAPPA ...BEST ON EVERYTHING BUT LITTLE LESS ON SPACE (COMPARED TO VISTA) GETZ1.3 BETTER CAR THAN BOTH ON ALMOST ALL FRONTS WUD B GREAT IF U CAN MAKE IT FIT IN UR BUDGET... LAST BUT NOT THE LEAST HYUNDAI'S SERVICE IS A NOCH SUPERIOR THAN TATA AND NO WHERE LESS THAN MARUTI .. HAPPY BUYING ..
rx2389
Wagon -r will be replaced by Ritz in short period of 4-5 months. @ Nikvint - Are you sure that Wagon R shall be replaced by Ritz in next 4-5 months ? Personally I doubt it. I believe Ritz shall be placed in competition with i10 thus it may be priced more than Wagon R.
thackervijay
surendiran, vista diesel would be way higher then your price range, if you want to go for diesel, yes QDJ from tata is a gr8 package, else would suggest you to have a look at santro before deciding. sekardhana
dont think of wagon R.. it is nothing but a high end auto.. either santro or if you can stretch your budget a little.. plan for swift and you will be happy with your decision once you own it... bluesapphire
buy Alto or M800 instead of worst car like WagonR..or wait for nano, that would be better than bullsh*t bloody crap WagonR.. Go for Vista MJD or i10 kappa, nothing to beat them..They are really worth every rupee..
jbond830
wagon R is more like a wagon. Very old design Indica vista is the future. There is so much space in Vista.

Crazy cat
@surendiran, if you are looking for petrol, then don't go for Vista petrol. Go for Vista, only if it is a diesel. Vista should be better than Wagon R at highway speeds.

rahul1810
Vista Saffire is also a brilliant engine sourced from Fiat. Wagon R engine is just too old and gearbox is not too good either. I suggest Vista- has much newer technology, Wagon R is just dated. But for use of 200 km in city and 800 km in highway you can buy a diesel and live with it. Also look at A-star if you really want a Maruti or wait for Ritz and see how its priced

[/quote'] this is exactly the same dilema i'm stuck with..My dad just sold his indica and now wants to buy a indigo cs TDI. But i wanted him to buy the indica vista. he is reluctant as its a hatchback! I own a dzire 1.3mjd and let me tell you that the engine is alteast 3 generations ahead of the TDI in the Indigo cs. So if some one can lose the boot, then vista mjd is much better!
