autofreako
hey autobuddies ... i was planning to buy the petrol linea by this monthend. However i am fazed by the number of lineas i've seen in delhi. It's already been close to 2.5 months since the linea is on sale. but the numbers sold are dismal . Even though the pricing is very attractive (the top end petrol variant emotion costs 6.99L ex-factory in delhi ) still it's not able to do great numbers. Should I go ahead and book it or wait for some more time ?
FuelRunGod
It's too early to tell. And I would suggest the Linea diesel. Petrol isn't all that great. Power is just about adequate. We have covered Linea Petrol vs SX4 vs City in Whatcar March '09. FRG
Durango Dude
Simple; it'll be decided by the experience of the Linea owner's at first service.
shravan
The car is excellent,it has all the features, well designed, comfort. The only drawback is the power of the vechile. But overall compared excellent package at that price. The only concerned is the service part, this would really effect the sales of the car.If Linea would be under brand of maruti or honda it could easily set records. spearhead1909
i think that its a success, fiat having being selling a good number of linea.. and now after the price hike of honda i personally think that it'll be the segment leader soon.. thackervijay
but slowly linea has started getting in market share with people really buying it, with some help from tata dealers who does selling along with its services, yes there are speculations regarding its ASS, but fiat this time has been trying to be smart and not letting their vehicle owners face those tough time they did earlier. But still few months down the lane and real picture would be known. bluesapphire
@TV, have you seen Linea's in A'Bad..
sgiitk
How good (or bad) is FIAT service will only be known in a couple of years. Also, the availability and pricing of spares will be dictated by the volumes (indigenization depends on this) generated. I will wait and see. It is possibly a make or break scenario for FIAT, as this may be their last chance.
bluesapphire
Well i think Fiat will pay attention to A.S.S as they have to coz now for any company India and China are only markets rest other are past like US and EU, and Punto is on the way(its actually ready for sale but fiat is waiting for launch), so Fiat have no option but to improve themselves as they already have invested so much in developing Linea and Punto here in India
Sandeep
I am also planing to buy Linea (p) top model... but just waiting to see at least one on road. Though they claim that they have sold 1570 in last 1.5 month.
karanraheja
Too early to comment. But from the sales it did 1500+ units in Jan and 1200+ units in Feb. I expected more units in Feb after Petrol Linea was available for TD. I think more people are waiting for FE figures. Linea does have a wait period. So i guess clear picture would come in near future. If Fiat maintains 1500+ units per month of Linea i guess they would take it a success.
bluesapphire
Well 1500 units for Fiat car are impressive and yes it has waiting.. I just hope this one is huge success.
spearhead1909
1.waiting period of 1 month 2.people enquiring about it 3.fiat reduced the spare parts cost 4.better ASS 5.punto to be launched soon fiat is on the road of glory now.. 1500 is a good number if it is so. Durango Dude
I'm yet to see a Linea in my part of Chennai. I'm waiting. i20 are slowly starting to appear, now. There's one biege example in the neighbourhood.
sujith3120
i have seen couple of lineas in bangalore and must s iay that they look stunning! i think if some one wants to buy it, it would be a good choice considering the competitors--SX4, Fiesta and verna. City has ruled itself out by pricing itself way higher.
autofreako
i checked up at two different dealers here in delhi. he told me there's a waiting period of over a month also on the petrol ! surely its not because of a high demand but lesser production. yeah i think i'l wait for about 6 months time before putting my moolah on one ! rki2007
I have seen quiet number of lineas on road in Bnaglore. It look fantastic in beige. The logo Fiat (Maroon) on the rear side of the car looks good on a light colors especially beige. But lInea was such a grat talk before and at the time of its launch but i feel it hasn't been too many on the road. Any way its too early to comment on the same. Lets wait for somemore time. With the prices of the Honda going to the extreme, the linea can be considered as an replacement of the ANHC. trojan_virus
I have seen around 12-15 in my city and one of the dealers claimed that they sold 30 cars . We have 2 dealers for FIAT and 2 service stations also . 3rd would be opening soon . trojan_virus2009-03-13 18:00:

bhalchandra
Have not seen a single Linea in INDORE . Success is what? though its a practical car. Brand reliability ( in INDIAN context ) is what coming in way of Linea.

The Punto is to be launched very soon and hopefully we should see it and the Linea as darlings of the buyers. Both are excellent cars but the dealers and spares' costs will play an important role. Sighted the demo car a few days back.
spearhead1909
the car is huge and its totally a vfm.. diesel is efficient... fiat has raised its brand image.. linea is surely a success
