i think linea is capable of challenging sonata laura and jetta' date=' same cant be said about the accord though[/quote']

The cars you mentioned are all 14-15 lac +. Fiat cant charge premium of 4-5 lacs if they plonk a 1.9 MJD. Lets be more realistic and think of next segment - Magnum & Octavia. But i think a 1.6 MJD would be a dream for most of us.

In Brazil, Linea competes with Civic, Corolla and Ford Focus which in India is considered a segment above. FIAT targeted Linea at ANHC, Verna etc because of more sales volumes and thus plonked a smaller engine to maximise FE. Although it comes with bigger engines in Brazil like 1.9 Flex with 132 hp and 183 Nm and 1.4 T-jet with 152 hp and 207 Nm.

Toyota Altis gives better FE than Linea.

What?? Altis gives better mileage than Linea!! Which world are you in? Even if you are talking about Linea Petrol' date=' it gives even better FE than the competitors SX4, Verna, Fiesta and is at par with ANHC. [talking about the Linea petrol'] and if you are talking about Linea MJD it gives awesome FE which is a bit more than that of Fiesta' and Verna's deisels.

I have written about Linea Petrol. As per user experiences posted in other forums, it gives 9-10 KPL in city whereas Altis is giving 10-10.5 KPL in city.

Gross weight of both cars is similar but Altis has more powerful engine so it pulls the car easily and consumes less fuel. Linea Petrol is heavier at 1240 kg vs Altis at 1200 & 1215 KG.

By giving the smaller engine FIAT has kept the cost down and possibly have qualified for the lower excise duty slab.

Has anyone analyzed Petrol Vs Diesel ?

Ofcourse Fiat Diesel is good / tested (in Swift/ tata) Cars. What about petrol.

I have July 2002 Palio (First 10) and since then it is running like Arab horse.. (I take care like a baby).. but dont know... how good or bad as compared to diesel.

My monthly running would be 1000KM.

I have also calculated if you go for diesel then with 80KM/ day running will have same cost as Petrol (price+ service+fuel). If it is less than that goes higher.

hey friends ... when i started this topic i was smitten by the linea and had thought of purchasing the same by this monthend. Though i was'nt too happy with the so-so performance of the 1.4L engine and the rear headroom , overall it seemed to be a good deal.

Until i drove my friend's ANHC and my decision tilted in favour of the city. Finally bought the car today ... a red ANHC. Though its really ill-equipped as compared to the linea , the driving pleasure is way ahead of the linea !

Good Driving Skills Spearhead. But please don't use it while driving in traffic or while you are accompanied by someone in the car as both (driving in traffic and while accompanied by someone at 40kph in 1st) will leave them praying to God or at least complaining to Local Police Station.
