chitnit 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2009 hi i am new on autocar discussion form i would like to know which one is the best car in diesel. my budget is notmore than 6lac. which oneis good swift dezire. new ford ikon tdci,indigo cs tdi or dicor with fuel economy ,maintenace cost and resale value. i heard that ford cuts its spare price is it true. pl guide as i have to bur car before 31st march. [/quote'] Out of the cars mentioned above Dezire is the best. But buying it before 31st March is impossible because the waiting period of the car is around 3-4 months. Ford Ikon can also be a good choice. Yes even i heard that the spare parts price is expected to be reduced by Ford. But remember even if the spares prices are reduced by Ford, it can never be cheaper than Maruthi in terms of maintenance. As far as the Indigo CS is concerned it is the cheapest sedan available. Its good VFM with normal and reasonabe performance. The users of this car say that the engine noise is unbearable. As you said your budget is 6 lakhs, it is very difficult to mark a diesel car in this range.Try to expand your budget a bit. If possible then the Linea, Verna would be a good choice.
