akj53in 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2009 ALL HAIL THE NATIONAL ENGINE!!!!! 1.3 MJD - Great engine. FIAT missed a great business opportunity. While selling the engine rights to GM, Maruti & Tata, FIAT should have insisted that all cars running on this engine will bear the logo "FIAT INSIDE" a- la-Intel. But then Fiat was not a big name in the Indian market before the Lienas or the Puntos rolled in! I doubt Fiat if even thought about this one!
jimgeo 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2009 GM has launched the Beat as Daewoo Matiz Creative in Korea The new Matiz will be powered by a 1.0-liter engine that produces 70 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 92.1 Nm of torque at 4,800 rpm. Mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission, the powerplant burns up to 5.8 liters of gasoline per kilometer (40.5 mpg) in combined cycle. Safety features include driver, front passenger and side airbags as well as curtain airbags mounted on the roof rails to protect the front and the rear occupants plus EBD, ABS, seatbelt pretensioners, shock-sensitive door locks and rear parking assist sensors. The whole range will rely on three trim levels - Pop, Jazz and Groove, with pricing starting at KRW 9.06 million ($7,200) for the entry-level Pop, at 9.44 million ($7,500) for the Jazz and at KRW 10.09 million ($8,000) for the Groove. Pramod 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2009 The grille is not proportionate and does not gel too well with the rest of the design. Rear three quarters look is good.

creativebala 178 Report post Posted August 24, 2009 Hi all. I am Bala, my first post Dear friends, Beat is an A segmenter, so should be way cheaper than Swift, So don't expect Ripples, instead expect Waves. Also a 1 litre Multijet, fly high in its Mileage dept.

While selling the engine rights to GM, Maruti & Tata, FIAT should have insisted that all cars running on this engine will bear the logo "FIAT INSIDE" a- la-Intel. GM & Fiat jointly developed Multijets Tata is 50% owner of Fiat in India, so only Maruti need to bear the logo "FIAT INSIDE"
nim12esh 0 Report post Posted September 2, 2009 Tata is 50% owner of Fiat in India' date=' so only Maruti need to bear the logo "FIAT INSIDE" [/quote']Buddy, get your facts right. There is a joint venture between Tata and Fiat in which both the companies hold 50 % stakes. Neither Tata owns Fiat nor does Fiat owns Tata. Tata is able to use engines of Fiat because of this joint venture.
creativebala 178 Report post Posted September 2, 2009 Tata is 50% owner of Fiat in India, and joint venture of 50% stakes are one or the same i think someone plz help me understand JV I think a punto or linea is 50% TATA and Fiat

nim12esh 0 Report post Posted September 3, 2009 @nimeshbala is right. Here is the link for that. http://www.fiat-india.com/about-us.aspx If Tata is 50 % owner of Fiat in India, then Fiat is also 50 '% owner of Tata....
creativebala 178 Report post Posted September 3, 2009 If Tata is 50 % owner of Fiat in India' date=' then Fiat is also 50 '% owner of Tata....[/quote'] Its not like this nimesh brother. In India, Fiat India Automobiles Ltd (FIAL) is a JV of 50% fiat and 50% Tata. So any fiat car here is half tata product and half fiat and Tata car here is 100% under tata sons. "then Fiat is also 50 '% owner of Tata...." is not true
