Anand Sivaraj 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2009 Actually the interiors are almost same as it is in the European version. But the AC vents looks aged except for that the plastic quality looks great. Anyway Price is the more important factor. Let us see. 13 days to go.
asethi919 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2009 The EU version of the Polo has the interiors lined with a good looking chrome lining which was missing from the flickr images we saw of the India production version. Everything from AC vents to the knobs to the speed dials is covered wih it. It may not be much but it certainly makes the otherwise dull interiors look better. Compare this image to theFLICKR one
hrmanju1 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2009 We are a tough group to convince. If we get the exact model shown in the pic above - price shoots up drastically and we cry FOUL ala Jazz. And if the price is justified with simple looks, we start comparing with International specs. Catch-22 situation for any auto maker. - talking about Interiors only. asethi919 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2009 HAHA!! I completely agree. Personally, I would rather have the international spec and pay the extra price than to settle for an inferior product.
sarabjeet 3 Report post Posted December 22, 2009 We'll be ripped anyways , even if we get the international version there will be only two airbag , no traction control , under performing engine . Price is just a ploy to sell us indian version BornFree2009-12-22 12:30:
Anand Sivaraj 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2009 I agree with your point, with an under performance engine even if they price it at 4 lakhs range, its tough to survive in a strong segment in India with the small dealer network and ASS.
hrmanju1 0 Report post Posted December 24, 2009 Under Performance should not be a problem IMHO. Its all about Fuel Efficiency. Yeah, if VW has to reach people and market share of 10%, the current dealer network will not work. They have to do things aggressively.
Anand Sivaraj 0 Report post Posted December 24, 2009 As u said with the current dealer network they can't make the VW Polo to make more numbers in India especially ASS, and u can't deny the under performance engine also, as we discussed earlier in this thread we in india hav so many 1.2 litre engines producing good power, and with the Fabia Petrol engine, just another factor for VW to consider. But still its the most awaited model in India and can make a huge impact if the proportions are correct(including the price). 11 days to go..

hrmanju1 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2009 @saravanan So what you are telling us here is - only one engine will be launched initially and then in batches TDI and TSI will be released? Hmm, doesnt look interesting at all. I was always of the opinion that "First Impression is the Best impression." But FE news may win some fans. Anyways 7 days to go

sarabjeet 3 Report post Posted December 30, 2009 how soon will diesel follow , can't believe this they should have launched both diesel and petrol version together if the diesel gets delayed VW u have lost a customer
asethi919 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2009 They might as well have launched the Diesel first because this 1.2L petrol engine would hardly interest a knowledgable buyer.

asethi919 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2010 I was checking out the PDF brochure given on the site(live above) and in the brochure it says THREE DIFFERENT ENGINES ARE BEING LAUNCHED. 1.6L PETROL IS ONE OF THEM. But it will only be launched in HIGHLINE version. Tech Specs Diff Versions asethi9192010-01-05 12:24:
hrmanju1 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2010 Page 7 of the brochure, right below the Engine picture, it says Diesel will soon be available in India. So we may not get this in Feb/March.
asethi919 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2010 I think the 1.6L Petrol with 105PS power coupled with only the top level trim will be one unbelievable car. It will surely be near the 6.5-7L version although its just my guess. The interior photos in the brochure are a lot better than what we expected them to be too.
