108!! Hmm...since when did caliber get a digtal speedo that you could see exact speeds of 108 etc....:P!!!

Anyways...don't worry your most probably doing somthing like 95-98...taking speedo error into consideration!Still 108 on the speedo is quite impressive...howd u manage it? Wats ur weight? were you on downhill/downwind?

And about mods...leave that 20 year old engine as it is......at the most if you badly want to do something for it...plonk in a K'n'N and don't forget to upjet....that should give you a lil more punch from the engine....then you get a customised free flow exhaust that would free up about 1-2 bhp from the engine....and while your at do remember to get slightly better rubber for the caliber...you can try sprocketing, but thats at the give take situation...either you get acceleration or get topspeed....whatever you get ...the opposite you loose!!!!

**Waring: all mods done are illegal. so be sure you are ok with having cop problems.**

It was getting close to abt a 110 Km/hr therefore i presumed it to be 108 Km/hr could have gone a lill further...but ran out of road by then.. I weigh about 75 Kgs... and no it was not a downhill... i managed to fo a 100 Km/hr sitting upright and after that took advantage by the air so leaned forward towards the tank and put my head close to the speedo.... to get that aerodynamicism...

Well this machine is old i agree... but it is worth it!! Truly Unshakeable One this is!!!

Thanks for those inputs.. shall keep in mind... anything else tht can be done

Hey how abt keeping keeping an extra air filter outside the box... just like th one's we see wid the Yam's

Extra air filter ? why ? Not needed...the K'n'N filter needs to be connected directly to the carb to achieve a gain of any sort!

And when I said the engine is 20 years old...i meant the engine is in use for the past 20 years....avoid doing any sort of mods to it.....

Anyways your bike...your take...

When you go in for a better rubber...don't go overboard and get really fat tyre....I don't know the caliber rim size...but I think the Apache rear tyre should be enough!

Caliber was  a good bike coz it had a tachometer in those days. But the fit and finish was shoddy. The plastics were of poor quality.- something like the very shabbily finished Bajaj Sunny( successful) or Stride (failure)and the mother of all failed Bajaj products, the 80 cc Rave (total failure). Bajaj Auto has passed thru three phases the (1)Socialistic phase-when they had 20 yr waiting lists, (2)Liberalisation with Poor Plastics Phase- these listed products here alongwith the Chetak, Cub and Super and (3)The hi-tech Pulsar phase- when nothing seems to go wrong with 125-220 cc Bajaj bikes, but the injuries are where the scooter sales figures appear!!!!! Alas its  Our Bajaj , Hamara Bajaj

*Hi-tech pulsar phase where nothing seems to go wrong*

You kidding rite....see the number of problems that come along with the pulsars.....and it just gets better as you up the product line!

yeah i have seen the quality of bajaj's bikes coming way down... well this is true of the whole industry.... The old is Gold man Anyday!! Those olden bikes are way much better in terms of fit and finish quality
