Post -Monsoon Rains Batter A.P., Karnataka and Goa

In Goa the Cancona taluka is the most affected.Mining rejects got washed away into houses in Navelim, Amona nd Shirgao.About 50 houses have collapsed due to the incessant rains. The Konkan Railway has been affected and so also the Mumbai- Goa Highway.

The above pictures are from Daijiworld, India Express and PTI.These show the battering that Goa (all the photographs from 1-12 above), Karnataka (an IAF helicopter in Raichur Dist Karnataka),and an elderly woman being carried on a truck tube (photo Outlook).

Nearly 20 lakh people have been affected and about 200 lives have been lost as per the official estimates as of now. Its really something that has caught us unawares and is unprecedented- In October  we've floods here!

Its a shame what happened. The image with the dog is funny though.

 

We finally have rain in Delhi but according to experts there will be light showers regularly for the next few days. This means avoiding going out or you'll be stuck in traffic.
