bluesapphire 1 Report post Posted November 16, 2009 Maruti Baleno:Pros:Ride Comfort and HandlingGood fuel efficiencyTrouble-freeCons:Slightly expensive spares for a Maruti.Cons: No offence but i differ here. Baleno was i think the only sedan which had worst interiors(design and quality) for a 7-9lac sedan i have ever seen. It were almost like Alto at that time and also the build quality. And i think looks and interiors made that car a big time flop although it had good engine, comfort, ride and handling.

Yes you didnt mentioned it anywhere and thats why i said that you must have mentioned it in CONS of the car.And yes the OHC and Lancer were not having that great quality but much much better than Baleno and atleast they were best of their time which was not with Baleno. See i am not critisizing your car, i was just pointing out the Cons of the car and nothing else. No offence meant.

bossottoelango 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2009 Why is it that we do not speak Good about our own products like TATA & MAHINDRA.???? even the NEW INDICA received very poor Media attention...???? Why are we so shy to praise our own products in the first place....??? but very comfortable praising all other country products..??? Lets wake up Gentlemen .................TATA is making world class cars these days purely for Indians Taste...... Mahindra's Xylo & Scorpio 's fit & finish can be compared with all imported cars today ................... Lets appreciate them for the hardwork they do first, give them our TOP PRIORITY in complimenting them in whatever possible ways like telling the best things about them in these kinds of forums & other media's... Americans praise GM --- Japanese praise TOYOTA ---- Koreans praise HYUNDAI ---- Germans praise MERCEDES ----- Italians praise FIAT --------- Let we Indians Praise TATA & MAHINDRA first..........take your initiative Today....... bhalchandra 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2009 I dont think anybody is shy here about TATA or MAHINDRA..! Its just when we are talking about the products its pros and cons , the Fit and finish of the CARS of these indian car makers is always found compromised. compromise is in indian pschycology . TATA and MAHINDRA knows this, whenever they present a model internationally , it is totally different than the one they sell to INDIAN masses. The products are used by common Indian people who really doesnt care about the plastic quality or dashboards.. the ABS, EBD and airbags , power windows are still a luxury for most of the people. Its the segment they cater and they are strategic at their places. you will see the change when TATA will present JAGUAR and LR to indian people, its for a different segment and those will be world class products. For example check Indica VISTA anniversary edition, its a definately good car in all respect.it has a leather finish dual tone dash and the quality of interior is just amazing. now again its a TATA. creativebala 178 Report post Posted November 17, 2009 Let we Indians Praise TATA & MAHINDRA first..........take your initiative Today....... Actually i started this thread to give a complete insight of every segment in India, i did mention about vista, but then FRG came up with the idea that, owners can say better about their cars, so I don't want to proceed further. So its Xylo/ Scorp owners turn now, but IIRC, I saw Xylo being discussed. So SCORPIO owners, wake up

asethi919 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2009 @bossottoelango No one here has anything against TATA and Mahindra. The simple fact is they make overall sub-par cars when compared to their international competitiors. Yes, they have quite a few pros too but these cars still lack meny things which make them undesirable for anyone who can afford products from other companies. Praising them knowing they are not as good as others and just because they are Indian would be just wrong.
Kinshuk 1 Report post Posted November 25, 2009 Agree with asethi919, this applies to the Scorpio - its interiors look dated - akin to the Mitsubishi Lancer maybe!?! For a vehicle which costs around 10Lacs one expects decent interior design, adding faux wood doesnt makeup for a dated design!!
rameshbabu.n 6 Report post Posted November 25, 2009 @bossottoelango I agree dear. We are in the habit of watering down even exemplary achievements. A classic case is Nano. All over the world, including advanced markets like France, Germany, UK, USA, have been praising Nano while in India, we made a big hue and cry about clogging the roads etc., After a long while, I got a number of calls/enquiries from my relatives/friends who are based in these markets seeking info on Nano and it's impact here. Most of these are calling me after a very very long time. Such is the enthusiasm and interest this small car had generated abroad. None of the hundreds of auto companies (including the likes of Honda, Toyota, GM, Ford, Hyundai, Fiat, Suzuki etc.,) have taken up this (they could have easily done this with millions and billions of dollars for their annual R&D works) while an Indian company which has just started to stabilize and grow has taken the lead and developed this beauty (with hardly any financial clout). I am really proud for what TATAs have done to auto industry and for their inclination to give more than they could given the financial constraints. However, when the product is good (need not be an excellent product...) and is offered as a VFM product, usually the product gets sold. This is the only reason for my selecting a Xylo over Innova. And, I am quite happy to have a good Indian product. I am equally happy when I see Scorpios, Aces, Indicas, Indigos competing, winning and selling in good numbers. For example, Manza is no way inferior to either City/Fiesta/SX4/Verna. As already told by none other than Tata himself, Tata is no longer an Indian brand or an Indian company/group. It is a true MNC entity now. Truly global and operating in many countries. I am proud of Tatas (and Mahindras, Bajajs).

amiti 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2009 Hyundai i10 Asta, automatic , with sunroof -- Purchased new in sep 09 Pros-- Good for city driving, although found good for highways too. More safety features ( although they come at more price) Peppy engine for an automatic. Also very quite with less vibrations. Loaded with equipment being top most varient. Above average looks. Good for small family. Hyundai A. S. S. is better. Cons -- Thin tires and no alloy wheels. Bumpy suspensions. Weak Headlights and horn --weaker than alto's. Pricey for a small hatch. Front and back bumpers are too soft and are bound to crack on slow impact also. Height adjustable seats missing and same for seatbelts.
