Chevy Beat shakes competition with 10,000 bookings

Recommended Posts

GM must tune it's 1.3MJD to  level i.e nearer to the performance of Swift.

Cause out of Tata' date='Fiat and Suzuki,Suzuki is the one who has utilised the engine well even it is not completly designed by it.

What if GM tune it even better than that of in the Suzuki's !!

Even if they tune it ditto same as in the Suzi's, even then it'll do wonders in the Beat & U-VA surely considering their lighter, aerodynamic & better body structures.

i personaly happy that Chevrolet offer good car at competitive price.

it's very good for the market and customer

about the sale data 10,000 in 24 day are better than many people expect

but beware GM, honda did it with Jazz, around 5000 booking in first month

but then Customer buy just  apx. 500 unit of Jazz a month unitl now.

1.3 MjD + the New Beat = A Killer Package' date=' really..........

It'll really rock man.

Now what'll be more interesting to see is In which state of tune the GM launches the 1.3 MjD ???? (In the Tata or Fiat or Maruti's tone or some more?style of performance?is possible from that engine?!!)

Beat coming with a 1.0 diesel engine. It is the same 1.3 multijet with 1 cylinder less.Fuel efficiency is a top priorty not performance.

No' date='No,No there must be no compromise in?eitherof the two, either Performance/Economy.

See the Swift?it's nothing less!smiley17.gif?
[/quote']                                                  Neeraj, the Beat will get a 1.0 litre diesel engine which will make 57 bhp, and will also make it the cheapest diesel on sale in India, that is until the diesel Nano arrives in 2011. Read this in Autocar India's August '09 issue.

The 1L MJD story was doing rounds all over last year' date=' but its said clearly in AE'10 that GM is gonna launch 1.3MJD, as this will be useful for Beat, Aveo, Uva, its mini MPV..etc.

@Dr.Nishu-I guess that the Beat will get a 1.0 L MJD as claimed by ACI,as it would give Chevrolet a chance to price it very, very aggressively, and also give the car outstanding fuel efficiency, probably the best in class. Both these factors would make sure that the diesel Beat would be a runaway success.

IMHO, the 1.3 L will be less strained in say our regular drive of say 70-90kmph, so with proper gear shifting, it should deliver as good mileage as 1L, apart from this, 1.3 delivers a quite and refined engine, good top end, on top of all these, it can be shared with various other GM cars.
