I am not sure but is Yeti is priced at Rs.17 L  ? ? ? ?  Its too high.

May be Skoda is the first to launch Small SUV but there M&M's small SUV and World car as well as New TATA Safari is expected soon. Even Tata is expected  launch vehicle to fill the gap in between Xylo and Innova.

If we go further down Premier Padmini have already launched Rio and from exterior they look much similar. But comparing Rio with Yeti is not acceptable.

17 on road may seem a little high but most probably that is what the case is going to be. I too find the car very appealing and hope that is succeeds. I still think it caters to a different demographic than the Endeavour, Fortuner or the new safari and mahindra's W201 will. Lets see.

There is a group of customer who wants only exclusivity and something more from a vehicle will definitely look-up for YETI.

Just as FABIA which set a standard for Premium Hatch Segment, YETI will set a Standard in India for mini capable SUVs.

Skoda is using the same strategy as it did for Fabia. By quoting very high price for their vehicle in the initial stage will help them to create more brand value and also it may help to earn something more than the other companies.

Even the ACI site first had the second set of pricing listed on its site. Changes a while ago.

Anyways, I find the car to be great value at either of those prices. It undercuts the pricing to all of its competition by a huge gap. Captive, CRV, Outlander are priced much higher. I think Skoda has a winner at its hands.

I dont understand why the small dimentions should be a negetive.

The car still offers comfortable seating for 5. The car has off-roading ability while maintaining a luxurious and spacious cabin inside. With the compact dimentions it makes the car lighter(more efficient) and more maneuverable which is a huge positive in our increasingly crowded cities.

I think Skoda is cashing in on the imported SUV factor that the Fortuner and Santa Fe is riding on now. Regardless of the Yeti even being assembled here or directly imported a price less than 15 Lakhs would deem it to be cheaper in snob value in public eye when compared to the Fortuner atleast.. irrespective of how big the fortuner is. vr.462010-11-15 09:33:53

Had a Test Drive of Yeti Yesterday. I must say that the car is very capable. Being compact, its so easy to maneuver in city. Being sturdy, good handler and stable its so secure to drive on highways. And to top it all, having good ride quality and decent ground clearance with standard rough road package, its so suited to our road conditions.

Its quite a looker and stands apart from crowd with its unique attractive looks although it must not be having road presence of SUVs like Fortuner.

I must say, Its the best all-rounder. Regarding price, I guess Yeti is priced slightly higher than expectations but not over-priced. But what I feel is it should come with features like Electric seats, Xenon Headlights and Sunroof at least in Elegance trim and DSG could be an option.
