Alto 04 - Maintenance and Service details

Recommended Posts

First long drive after the major repair. We decided to visit our farm house today, but work delayed the event. Eventually managing to finish work early, we left around 3pm today. Came back just now. Reports are positive, no problem at all. Ride quality has somehow improved, but I do not understand how. May be tightening up nuts and bolts did the trick.

Here are some snaps.

1. My steering cover is torn. I was planning to get a stitched steering cover. Any idea on make or price ?

2. I am also planning to get new seat covers. But I doubt if old Alto seat covers are still available or not.

@DD

Thanks. The car is running fine. I am going to change the tyres soon. ZVTS is giving up.

@librankur.

The car is up for service. I was supposed to get it yesterday, but delivery was delayed. I will take the car today sometime. The tyres are the same old ones.

I have opted for Castrol Magnatec 5w30 this time, along with engine flush (3m)

Other changes are new brake oil, coolant, oil filter, fuel filter, new set of wipers, and two new front shock absorbers. Also there is injector cleaning and engine tune up. An estimate of Rs 6.5k till now.

The service cost this time was 7k. The major work was the front suspension overhaul which was giving trouble with noise and rough ride. Change has made the ride quality fantastic.

Let the pictures do the talking

That's like a seasonal vaccination dose to your car.

But its a good one.

By the way, How much kms your car have clocked till to date ??

As my Alto is now 1.01 lacs kms old, I'm planning to replace all the 4 struts of my car, as all of them have leaked & are least effective in absorbing the Road Intrusions.

MASS have also advised me have its Spark Plugs changed, which are still the stock ones.

But still, I'm unsure about these serious maintenance as chances are that I might sell this car after the arrival of Newer one.

So shying of Investing on it.

How much the MGA Struts & Spark Plugs(3) costed to you ??

Yes is am interested in the entire breakup (parts and labour)

Also , my is an older Zen and have recently replaced its front shockers , was wondering how much would it cost me for a similar treatment on my vehicle.
