Why do we get more Turbo Diesels...

Recommended Posts

Why is that there is more preferences given on turbo in only diesel car and not in petrol car and why so much preferences are on mid range torque and high range torque only in diesel car ? are these diesel engines give output in a different way?BornFree2010-11-11 05:42:37

All (or almost all) common rail engines are turbo charged. Small 'blown' petrol engines may be the future.

With TC you get higher power without sacrificing the economy, something which will be inevitable in a normally aspirated engine.

Very Simple..

Its mainly used to Achieve better Combustion in the Engine' date=' hence better Power, Efficiency & last but not the least to get Cleaner Emissions.

Naturally Aspirated Diesel engines usually show lethargic Response to Throttle changes, turbo-charger helps to Speed-up that Responses, whereas Petrol engines Uses Spark Plugs to burn the fuel & Managing their Ignition Current is Relatively Simple process than that of Diesels which use Slower 'Micro-fine Spray' phenomenon for fuel combustion.
