used E350 Petrol

Recommended Posts

My friend got an offer From a Merc Dealer, Its a 2009 Nov E350 Petrol (New shape with Rectangular Headlamps). Dealer says this Vehicle Is impoprted from specially from Germany as it was being used by one of the Officers in Merc India.

The price quoted by the Dealer is 42 lac the vehicle has done 29,000 Km or Miles am not sure.

Do you think this is a good price?

How can one know if the vehicle is really an imported vehicle?

Does it make any difference if the vehicle is Made in Germany or indian?

Do we need to take additional care if vehicle is imported?

The only issue with one off imports can be spares. If you bust a windscreen you may have a long wait. At one time importing used cars from Japan was becoming popular in the UK, until people ran into the spares hurdle.

@Goen there is no major difference , expect for some goodies.

I doubt it is an import because E350 was locally available. It is over priced , anything near 35 is OK, but 42 is too much.

Is he getting through Shaman ,Autohanger or B.U Bhandari  ?

@sgiitk

Exactly sir, windscreen may be a small concern but things like suspenpension etc may cause a big problem and may cost a fortune.

Will we not be able to use same parts as the Indian make E- Class?

@sarabjeet Yes I was also thinking why would it be a Imported vehicle, the reason could be that it was a test vehicle.

The offer is from Shaman. We are mentally prepared for 38lacs, Sales person seems to be ready for 40lacs

@goelkushan: There are sometimes subtle differences between the specs across countries. So not necessarily. Mundane items like filters etc. should however not be an issue.

Then the car would be at Kalina, go for a hard bargain, they do come down. Ask them for 6 months warrenty, you do get it on company cars.

start with 35 and show him the cash, mark my words he'll come down more.

What color is the car in question??

WHITE

Drove the vehicle today it was absolutely silky smooth. However the vehicle has done 43000Km but is in very good condition.

The dealer says that the Vehicle is a CBU and most of the New E were CBU initially for a month or two but we need not worry as the car was made for indian conditions and all the parts are same as any other E

Folks do you think this is a good buy @ 38-39lacs?

What are other good options (Below 40lacs)?

Criteria :The car should have great performance and running will be less so diesel can be avoided.

43K is bit on a higher side , you will need to change brake pads and suspensions do weaken at this time. Plus new oil, filters so you may have to spend 50-60K, close it at 36L, tell him about these costs.

There are lots of options at 40, you'll get Q7,Q5,X3,X5, beemers etc or you can try the new 520D alsoit is around 36.80 or something
