My All New Volkswagen Polo

the bolero or columbus music system will really provide high audio to the user. If you are an audiophile , you may consider the JBL MS - 8 also.

Also, I 've noticed that your seat fabric is beige - could you please tell how you can clean that when it's dirty, because I can't even clean my seats with the leather - cleaner properly.(Mr.Leather)

hi ashikawa,

ya as you said the numbers given in the volkswagen website is waste..as i have tried and sometimes no one picks it up or they take and they will say that our customer representative will talk to you..and i personally know how solid is the polo,a very good hatchback..when you catch the steering,it gives you a confident feeling..and the plastic quality is very good compared to rivals.and how much mileage do you get in city anf highway?

And how is your car brakes as there is no abs.*?

Brakes are good without abs. I can not comment on mileage as on date' date=' will only after a long drive. Though the reported is 12 city 16 highway for petrol car. It may vary depending about driving habits.

Already installed VW original with usb and four 220 watt speakers. Its good.

Also' date=' I 've noticed that your seat fabric is beige - could you please tell how you can clean that when it's dirty, because I can't even clean my seats with the leather - cleaner properly.(Mr.Leather)[/quote'] Yet to remove the plastics and will put art leather or fabric soon. Once you bring car home, its difficult to find time to put a accessory.

IMO, its 3-3.5k for 1st service, as told to me by one of mine friend who's having Polo 1.2 Highline Petrol.

But Do confirm this again.

Happy Motoring ahead.

O.T: I'm also planning to buy Polo 1.2 TDi, but I'm scared of vibrations of its 3-cylinder engine.

Hope it would have came with 1.6l TDi engine from Vento, then it would've been in standing my Residence by now.

@All : Received a call from VW asking for my feedback. Couldn't attend the call as i was busy , so asked to call me back. To my surprise no call back at all. So made a complaint to VW than received a call back after 12 days(i.e. after first call).

The caller was unaware about which car i bought vento/polo(??????), was asked two questions:

1. How i rate this product on 1 to 10 scale: I told 9 and no problem with 10 also.

2. Has your car visited workshop after delivery( do they expect it to) : I replied in negative.

The caller was about to disconnect the call without asking me anything else or giving me an opportunity to say anything than i told i have something more to say , a reluctant 'yes' from the other side.

Than i told that your company should have a proper system of communicating things to customers during waiting period instead of leaving them to the mercy of useless dealers, who make us to call them .

So moral of the story is : now I will send a complete and detailed feedback to VW Germany, as i don't think VW india will act on my feedback. The parents should know, what their child is up to.ashikawa2011-03-28 16:55:48

Received a call from VW today again for feedback, told them all the troubles i have faced pre-delivery. Hope that they will translate feedbacks into action towards good customer service.

Yesterday got a call from dealership saying my RC smart card is ready. Told them to scan and send me by email so that i can check the details and ask to correct if any error is there. Surprise to inform that i got the email in 2 hours with a call back confirming the same. It seems customer service at dealerships is improving.smiley32.gif

Collected my RC Card today. It took 35 days to get the same as against 45 stated earlier by the dealer and what is a common period across all car dealers in mumbai. Planned a trip next week, will give feedback on fuel efficiency once i come back.

Your topic about new VW Polo is very interesting. I like this car, in France the Polo is nicknamed "la fourmi" (= the ant). We also have delivery problems with VW Polo, but 5 month : they must make a gift in return!

Polo for Indian market are manufactured in Germany? I have never seen this type of headlights on new Polo, why they are not black?

I am always surprised that in India the cars are delivered with all the protections on the seats and floor. Here they are always removed before delivery

The quality is good when compared to cars sold by Indian car companies but when compared to its European sibling its shade inferior. For starter the Dashboard is  hard no soft touch plastic here, rear view mirror in night mode has limited view , quality issues in some Polo ranging from poor quality beading to engine head replacement.Yes niggles are plenty but Overall its quite a superior and a quality product by VW at an affordable price - What more one can ask for?

Here too, soft touch plastics are only for the most expensive versions of Polo. If the price is good it's acceptable. It's a shame that VW offers only two engines and no TSi.

I can't see if there are an airbag? What's the price in India for the cheapest Polo?

The Polo retails at 7000 euros approx for base variant going upto 11000 Euros for 1.6 variant. There are two petrol and One diesel engine on offer in India with three trim levels. The quality of interiors is same in all variants of Polo sold in India.

  • 1.2 petrol - 3 cylinder - 75 bhp.It comes in three trim level - Trendline, comfortline and highline with Two Airbags and ABS only in highline  variant.
The trendline comes with A/C and power steering only.No climate control in top spec.
  • 1.2 - Diesel - 3 cylinder - 75 bhp - variants and features similar to 1.2 petrol.
  • 1.6 petrol - 4 cylinder - 106 bhp - offered only in highline variant only retailing close to 11000 Euros.
In India , Compacts, subcompacts - dual Airbags,ABS , are standard only in Top variants and are not even option in base variant as A/C standard in base variants.

Ok, prices are very interesting especially for the 1.6 Highline. The 1.2 petrol and diesel are the same here but the 1600cc that existing for the previous Polo was replaced by a turbocharged 1.2 TSi with 105hp.

We have 5 petrol engine (1.2 60hp, 1.2 70hp, 1.4 85hp, 1.2 TSi 105hp and 1.4 TSi 180hp for Polo GTi) and 3 diesel ( 1.2 TDi 75hp, 1.6 TDi 90hp and 1.6 TDi 105hp)

The DSG automatic gearbox is available with all engines except the 1200cc ( diesel and petrol)

Good write up and Congrats on your new buy ashikawa, I'd say it's the best buy.

it would be really interesting if you can upload more real time pictures and everyday driving reports. This would really help buyers decide on this wonderful piece of engineering.

Exactly not alike happened to me though.

Posted query regarding feasibility of Polo 1.6TDi at their website at 1:30 am morning & Surprisingly recieved the call from VW India HQ, Mumbai at around 10:30am same morning.

But sadly got a big 'NO' for 1.6 TDi Polo from them.
