Nano diesel to give 40kmpl fuel efficiency

Good news from tata earlier their indica v2 claimed 25kmpl efficiency(arai approved) & claim to being the most fuel efficient car in the country. Now its time for nano diesel.According to Bosch, one of the largest global component manufacturers, who are developing the diesel engine of the Nano, the new car may go as much as 40km on every litre of diesel.

The car will be powered by a 700cc twin cylinder diesel engine. Small in size, and reasonably torquey, the new engine should make the Nano, dream to own for the economy conscious. Now this will be a TRUE BIKER's CHOICE.

 

Reasons being,

Similar EMI Amounts( But your tenure will be for couple more years)

Similar cost/KM, @ 1.25/km( which most bikes deliverr today)

Similar maintainance cost, @Rs 100/month, may be 200/300 for Diesel, but still a good one.

And you get space for 3 additionl people, more luggage space, AC, reach place in safety, weather proof, status of going in a car...

 

This car can beat Alto's nos.

The price of Diesel Nano will  decide its future.If it is priced rightly you have a winner in your hands otherwise Nano will sulk as Alto will contnue its domination.

Nano caught Fire - is another factor which may affect its sale aprt from price. i think it will be smallest diesel engine ever design for car. correct me if i am wrong.

The fire episodes are a thing of the past. The Nano has made a comeback with increasing sales numbers - 8,700+ for March '11 and 10,000+ for April '11  .

Of course, to fit into the Nano - the world's smallest car,  the diesel engine would also have to be the smallest.
