sb-alto 21 Report post Posted September 17, 2011 Captiva facelift spied in India 17 September 2011 Here are two spy shots of the refreshed Chevrolet Captiva being tested near Manali, clicked by reader Rakesh Sharma. The car has clearly undergone some serious cosmetic changes in the front, which now sports an aggressive, oversized grille. This grille design is gradually becoming the hallmark of new Chevys worldwide and, in India, features on the Cruze and the Beat. The overall front look, which includes restyled headlamps, is somewhat similar to the Mitsubishi Outlander. There are some subtle changes to the interiors as well, claims Sharma. The updated Captiva will sport a new 184bhp, 2.2-litre motor which will help improve refinement levels and power delivery. It will also feature upgrades to the cabin insulation, with much less engine noise and vibration. The new Captiva is expected to hit Indian shores around January next year. dr_nishu 198 Report post Posted September 17, 2011 There seems to be a more than a Nose & Tail job to this car. Just notice the smaller yet longer Side Air Intake on its front fender. New Captiva looks however a bit longer too.
tejasmehta990 4 Report post Posted September 17, 2011 This is great ! There will be a serious fight in between XUV 500 , Koleos, New Captiva and Fortuner. Now Auto companies are finding vacuum space and try to establish where there is scope for new entry with good profit margin. Captiva was the only player than came Fortuner and took away the market share and Renaul launched feature rich Koleos and now expected XUV 500 in this segment and now Captiva again gearing up to become segment leader. rssh 59 Report post Posted September 17, 2011 @tejasmehta I don't think that the XUV 500 is in the same segment as the rest . The new Captiva should have been launched much before but IMO Santa Fe was popular in the US thus because of good image it found a good number of buyer in India as well . The new engine has more power and the turbo lag ought to be lesser than the earier model . I just hope the Chevy prices the top end automatic varient at 25 lakhs on road to undercut the fortuner to give a serious fight.

Sstar 77 Report post Posted September 20, 2011 Captiva also had advantage of good looks and musculine charater. In earlier version the back door was not so convincing at least to me, it looks this one is going to be changed in the new version. By the way, it may also affect BMW x1 and Audi Q3 as well. As it will come cheaper than them and may be a VFH....Wait & Watch.

Rs.80k means a Brake pads for BMW, while for Toyota or Chevy it contributes to alteast set of Alloys.
