jesj 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2011 I am new to this forum and new to owning a car (first one). As a first buy I have paid a nominal advance for a car and expecting to receive it in a few days time, as the owner is expecting his new car (Toyota Etios) by then. Here are the car details: Brand: Hyundai Model: Accent GLS 1.6 (P) [ABS] Year: 2004 Kms Driven: 32000~34000 Modifications: Alloy wheels, new battery (5 yr warranty) Ownership: Single (ex-NRI) Price settled for: Rs. 230,000 (no agents involved) The car is well maintained with service records. The vehicle was locally used, very seldom long distance drives. I would like to have your valuable suggestions on whether this is a good deal for the price and also what else do I need to check for before taking delivery of the vehicle. ... No salutations or sign offs please. Mods sgiitk2011-07-05 06:54:

TSiVipul 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2011 @Jesj: I think if the car mentioned by you is really in the same condition then it is a steal for 2.3 lacs.
Aerospeedcars 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2011 2004 crdi is 2.1lakh I donno how 2.3lakh for an used accent gls? Anything between 1.5 to 1.7lakh can be expected.
rssh 59 Report post Posted July 6, 2011 Don't pay more than 2.0lakhs for the car of 2004 . Also check when the owner replaced the tyres because if it is more than 4 years then you will spend 20k on tyres alone.
Durango Dude 2 Report post Posted July 6, 2011 2.3 L is on the higher side for a 7 year old Accent.
creativebala 178 Report post Posted July 6, 2011 Price is high. You can consider the OHC/HC of similar age for your price. That will prove to be gem in performance, FE, reliability, resale,..etc.
jesj 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2011 thanks everybody for ur suggestions... regret was not able to negotiate any further on the price as seller was very well known to my family.. but the vehicle condition is reliable @rssh: u got it right, i have to change the tyres (not immediately though) but it will comfortably last another 10000 kms
rssh 59 Report post Posted July 6, 2011 @jesj don't go by the km's the tyres have been to . The tyres might have thread left for 10000kms but the rubber becomes hard with age and need to change it immediately . I would say a 2.0lakhs to be a fair price for a good maintained car.
