Hyundai Motors India Limited.

A2 segment (Santro, i10, i20) 41,533 units;

A3 Segment (Accent & Verna) 7,980 units;

A5 segment (Sonata Transform) 13 units;

Santa Fe (SUV) 141 units.

Honda Motors

Jazz: 275;

City: 4092;

Civic: 233;

Accord: 84;

CR-V: 41

Volkswagen

Polo+Vento : 6353

Jetta: 109

Observations:

1. Beat sales already get a boost with the diesel launch.

2. Etios going strong and Liva starts very strong with 2500 units. Now to find out if this is the initial buzz or will this number stick around.

3. Chevy still continues to sell Optra, Aveo and U-va even though combined those there have not managed 500 units in a month in a long time.

4. Honda City is back at its throne as the leader of the segment. It could be the corrected price or maybe the parts localization story is true.

5. No sign of increased production at the VW house. Continues to linger around 6000 units a month.

6. Nano is back in the slump with only 3000 units selling this month.asethi9192011-08-02 06:32:50

MSIL sales is down by 25% (Source : Local news paper)

Reasons -

1.Strike

2.Stopped swift production for new launch

3.High petrol price

4.High loan interest rates

Maruti is offering good discounts - still drop in sales

Alto - 30k

Alto k10 - 20k

Astar - 65k

Estilo- 30k

WaganR - 25k

Sx4 petrol - 35k

New swift launch will help them but not in great extent.

-------------------------------------------------------

Etios  -                      4,095

D'zire -                      3021

Manza + Indigo    -    4,877

Etios Diesel will surely change the game in future

-------------------------------------------------------

Jazz: 275 - Strange even after Hugh discounts

Honda - 4,725 (July 2011)

The price cutting strategy has worked for them and obviously coming out of the Japan crisis will further improve the numbers. But I'm sure the numbers can be improved to a lot more brighter figures.

The sales have gone down. But i think this might be a trend in the auto industry sales in general. INcreased fuel prices and interest rates could be a major factor here i think. Another recession staring in the face is also not helping their cause. Tatas will catch up eventually coz customers will look for economical driving solutions.
