HM VEER- New Load carrier launched

Recommended Posts

Hindustan Motors has launched Veer in East India. The Veer is a 0.8-tonne (800 kg) small commercial vehicle and will be launched across India by the end of this financial year. The Veer is built on the Ambassador platform with changes being done to the transmission and suspension systems required for a load carrier.

The vehicle is available in both diesel (BS III) and CNG (BS IV) versions and in two models

Now i found out. Hindustan Motors is one of the oldest manufacturer. They forgot to replace their old employees with the new gen one. So these are those olden days crappy designs which is coming out now.

Really shocked after seeing this design. I HATE PERSONALLY!

@Aerospeedcars:

your logic seems to be quite logical. Its really possible that HM is using the employees who are as old as the company itself is.

Or maybe they are trying to keep their image alive.

Now I understood, this thing will be sold in either tribal areas or HM is targeting the escorting vehicles of the politicians who move in Ambys, see they will look better with Ambys as compared to Jeeps.. smiley21.gif

Look at the grille,it looks like a JUGAAD done by the company itself.TSiVipul2011-08-09 11:01:07

I wonder what the guys at HM are up to. I mean converting an iconic car like Amby into a pick-up truck seems so insane. They literally killed the Ambassador with this move. I dont think people will prefer buying Ambassadors as family cars no on.

The pick-up truck looks like some old Ambassador that was modified into a pick-up truck by some road side garage.

HM were selling Pickup versions of Ambassador from 1960s to right till early 1980s but that didn't stop people buying ambassadors.

Ambassdors are selling approx. 200 cars/month  far cry 1000 cars/month they were selling in 2010.This clearly demonstrates Ambassador production is un -profitable is doing these gimmick products to push the sales.

The Veer diesel is offered at an inaugural price (for the month of August 2011) of Rs. 3.30 lakh (ex-showroom Kolkata).

Well, now read the article carefully and being a transporter,I can bet that if the above mentioned information is true then this VEER thing can really do some wonders.

Be practical friends, this is not a passenger car or a family mover,so looks does not matter at all if its low on cost and is cheaper to run then it can do wonders.

Ask yourself,do you people ever think that the vehicle which is transporting your goods, how does it look or drive?

The hood will probably be the same. Those are paddings that dont go all the way upto the windshield. They may be for grabbing eyeballs as normally nobody is interested to feature them in scoops.

This car looks so much better than the "upskirt" veer..

This proves at what speed HM Management and team is working.

Below is an advertisement of HM Porter Similar to VEER . Looks like this AD is not less than 25 years old.

Possibly people who booked Porter 25 years back will finally get the delivery of vehicle.

The management must be relieved that finally they made this. Phew...........smiley36.gif

But I can say that PORTER is looking much better and proportionate than VEER.

We are hearing lots of news that new vehicles from Hindustan Motors so this would be the next version under development which will be launched soon.

If one wants to study working of an age old technology under use,  HM Cars / Factory and Management is the best to look for.

Well honestly I don't find anything wrong with the vehicle, though the machine is not a looker, however this has to be given under strict circumstances what HM currently as an organisation sieves through. As an organisation they have been out of action for quite long & I believe they are just trying waters by betting it on the best they can do.

+1

Judge the vehicle for the purpose it has been made, not for the way it looks. You can never expect a big truck to look sleek and beautiful(until it gets a Punjab treatment).Same way,why to compare the Veer with the cars when it is a pick up.Just have a look at the price.

Well,if this vehicle proves its worth then rest assured that once you will find an ownership review of the vehicle from me as i'll buy them for my fleet.

Rest:I AM STILL TO UNDERSTAND,WHY THEY ARE MAKING JOKES OF THEIR ICONIC 'AMBY'?

OT:

@Khatbhej:

maybe HM is giving this dog thing with the 'VEER' to protect the 'VEER' from vehicle thiefs? But it seems like 'VEER' is protecting its protector..

Is this blackened part also the cargo box or its the chasis with just 1-2 feet deep cargo box?

By the way, does that "Stepney Dog" come as standard or as an option?

Haha

The storage.

I am guessing the black part is just the rear bumper, as it seems to be soft material with screws clearly visible.

The bumper.

The whole image. I didn't upload this before....
