sras 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2011 Should I buy Beat Petrol PS? Hi guys, I am planning to buy a car and my budget is around 4.2 l. Beat Petrol PS is coming under my budget. Please advice. Also, as per my knowledge, Beat Petrol gives average of 14 kmpl in city. Is it correct? My usuage will be around 10,000 km/year and would like to buy a car with good mileage. dr_nishu 198 Report post Posted August 8, 2011 Yes Beat PS is a good option for budget under 4 lacs, but I'd advice you to atleast stretch upto Beat LS-mid version, which boasts of Front Power Windows, Central locking & many other goodies. Since with the recently found love with Diesel cars, Petrol cars are getting better deals now, as most of them comes with lots of freebies like Free Basic Accessories, Free Insurance, Free 3-year Maintenance package(only with Chevrolet cars), etc. Do try to bargain hard & get the Beat LS. Its really a good car.
vignesh 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2011 +1 to you doc.The Beat is an awesome car.but I seriously think that you need to get something like the LS model.Do consider the Hyundai i10.tThat too is a very good car.!
ashikawa 2 Report post Posted August 8, 2011 @sras + Dr.Nishu. The LS is better VFM if sras can streach his budget a little more. However the PS also is great option.
vignesh 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2011 @Ashikawa-what do you think about the i10?
ashikawa 2 Report post Posted August 8, 2011 @vignesh I sat in a i10 few day back and found it a little tight on space. Whereas i found beat better spacious(leave boot space) and fresh.BTW i have no grudge against i10. But i don't like to go conventional way(read Maruti/Hundai) Anyways its my personal opinion. Before finalising Polo i was about to book and buy a beat. This was the only car i liked other than Polo. sras 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2011 thanks guys for your replies.. I will see for LS Option. Any idea what will be the city mileage of Beat LS? I heard it will be around 14 kmpl.
sb-alto 21 Report post Posted August 8, 2011 Yes, Fuel efficiency will be around 14kmpl. But if you are not tight on budget then you might extend it to get a Ritz or an i10. These provide better value.
creativebala 178 Report post Posted August 9, 2011 agreed with you all, beat is a good car, but why a petrol car for annual run of 10k. Do not squeeze too much for PW or CL, instead spend on LPG and if can squeeze still, go for Diesel.
Aerospeedcars 0 Report post Posted August 9, 2011 Everything is ok except the body. They reduce the thickness of a body for decreasing its weight which will be helpfull in mileage. (Very Bad Concept in all the small and mileage cars) Safety First !
unknownbullet 1 Report post Posted August 9, 2011 @sb-alto ex showroom price Beat 1.2 LS in Mumbaiu is Rs. 401961/- and of RITZ VXI BS IV is Rs. 455806.35/- So more than 50000 price difference Will it be advisable to stretch budget for Ritz in comparision to Beat
GOLF 0 Report post Posted August 9, 2011 @sras - don't stretch your budget as the prevailing economic climate is not conducive for stretching budget. Why don't you try out Alto K10 vxi if its within your budget? GOLF2011-08-09 14:52:

These two cars sits at opposite poles of earth. How a person who wish to own a Beat will settle for a ALTO.
TSiVipul 0 Report post Posted August 9, 2011 @Ashikawa: In my views,GOLF is simply trying to express his concern about the current or on-coming economic crisis, which seems to be really coming. So if thinking from head, his advise too can be considered. Still in my views,BEAT is also not that expensive, but right now a Wagon-R or Ritz may be better. I'd advise to get a fully loaded Wagon-R VXi instead of a stripped Beat. Yesterday,in a meeting from a leading company which has many offices in India(Won't tell its name as it may result in panic here in forum too).Actually four of our trucks are in contract with that company and yesterday they told us that "Right now we may have to hold our bills for some months or contracts may be ended because there are some economical problems".I still remember last time during recession all our payments were stopped and we were paid the complete bill after a gap of 8 moths.
