SS800
Hi Planning to buy Toyota Etios sedan and need guidance for fixing rear speakers for (V variant) The car comes with 2 DIN music system with two speakers in front doors and 2 on dashboards. The dealer is offering JBL GT6-S699 speakers for 4990/-. How to decide what is best? Is the price right? SS800
TSiVipul
@SS800: You can also ask the dealer to quote for Xplodes too and then once inquire it in the open market too, because dealer will surely offer them to you for atleast 20-25% premium. dr_nishu
@SS800. 4990/- is a too much for a Rear speakers. Try to search out for that speakers in an accessories market, you can easily come across not more than 3500-4000/-. If you want the real voice clarity & bass then I'd advice you to for Rockford Fosgate speakers over JBLs as the latter tend to have flatter bass on at High volume levels. SS800
Hi I am still wondering how the accessory shops decide what speakers go with what car.. Etios Audio Specs are: Power Supply: 12 v DC Current consumption: 3A or less (at 0.5W * 4 ch output) Max Output: 40 W * 4 ch Speaker Impedance: 4 ohms (.. I believe its measured in ohms, right) So with the specifications what is the speaker wattage that can go? Actually need to understand the equation and what speakers go with this. The Toyota manual do not have guidance on this SS800

RatPat
hi... JBL is having very good quality compare to sony. I tried both in my old car. I never tried Rockford Fosgate (sorry, dr Nishu) JBL GT6-S699 for Rs. 4990/- is too much yaar..... try other dealers, it will be easily available under 3500/- J BL GTO 949, 6 X 9 oval, rear speaker, will get it under 4500/- having better quality. Choose one of them. front speaker you go for 6" instead of 4", as 4" speakers not delivering well at high volume GT6 S366, 6", around Rs.3000/- Fix a decent 2 - 4 channel amplifier. Its upto your choice and your budget. Rest, experts will suggest you the best.... thanx...
creativebala
JBL is having very good quality compare to sony. +1 J BL GTO 949' date=' 6 X 9 oval, rear speaker, [/quote'] Is it 949 or 947. 947 Limited Edition is good, no idea on 949 front speaker you go for 6" instead of 4"' date=' as 4" speakers not delivering well at high volume GT6 S366, 6", around Rs.3000/- [/quote'] Remember reading sbalto recommending a higher output 4" Kenwood. Check it out in market. Fix a decent 2 - 4 channel amplifier. Price difference between these 2 are miniscule, so its best to go for 4 channel which would be of more use while ugrading. banadictaustin
Generally a 5.1 system has side surrounds and a 7.1 hand side and rear surrounds which worked well. If you choose a different series, it may sound good, Although the speakers sound good at a low volume
