My manual seems to be for the last gen swift.. Can u check ur manual

Yes, it also reads the same.

Engine Oil, Oil filter, Fuel filter, Engine Coolant, Brake fluid, Gear Oil, Clutch fluid replacement at 20k kms/24 months service.

Thereafter, same consumables replacement at every 20k kms or after every 2years/24 months.

Haven't got the quote for this service yet, as both mileage driven & time span interval are still far.

However, if you're having more than one Maruti Auth.Service centres in your vicinity, then you can negotiate for labor charges.

One more thing, Which engine oil you're following for your Dzire ? Is it mineral or synthetic.

Does engine oil from outside shops can be brought to service center for replacement, than relying on ASC's stock items !

Actually was busy with some work from last few weeks & haven't got much chance to intimate with car due to too chill winter weather in Dec-Jan.

There seems to be a lot going on with the tire. Too much physics for me, but I found a few things that might help explain it.

"Width and Pressure

Tire width and pressure are inextricably linked. It is a serious mistake to consider one independently of the other. Generally, wider tires call for lower pressures, narrower tires call for higher pressures.

Generally transmission fluid has long life

The same happens with Hyundai diesel cars also, don't know much about others.

But heard that few of Ford cars(Old Fiesta/Classic & new Fiesta DCT Automatic) in India come with life-long Transmission fluid warranty i.e they need not to be changed for their entire lifetime.

Dzire zdi has bigger tyres hence lower psi for smaller tyre psi is higher

I have upgraded my tyres on my dzire and I use 29 psi

I haven't recommended any value to him, but men at tyre shoppe are more known to tyre pressures to a particular car(Dzire in this case), as it is his daily job. So, i'm following him, till i'm comfortable with ride of my vehicle.

Might sound a bit indifferent.

Planning to replace its Alloy wheels with another new one, as i'm not happy with current Alloy wheel's design.

Suggestion please.

Am already using alloys for my LDI .. its running on 195/60/R15

Using Prestige brand of alloys which is and average brand you can go for better brands like lenso

be ready to spend around 18 to 22 k

What do they cover in paid service charges

They even charged for coolant change and mud flap fitting , what a sham. That too when the wheels are aready off for the pad change.

Why the extra charge to bleed the brakes ? isnt that part of the Pad changing process, also this disk cleaning charge, i mean what is going on. They just rub a bit of sand paper on the disks , before fitting on the new pads, why so many charges for the samething.

Please tell me , you were there alongside your car , what did they do , so special , did they remove the whole thing and cleaned it

Charging for 500ml of brake fluid , its mostly a topup

Good you did not go for the Gear Oil change this time as suggested .

They must have sensed your deep pockets before hand.

and what is that charge below distilled water cant see it clearly and guys this distilled water at dealerships in 99 times out of 100 just plain tap water.

Still messing with the engine oil woes, have been to MASC last week to finally arrive at some conclusion & to replace it but somehow Service Supervisor wasn't convinced about the fact of Engine oil type vs Engine NVH aspect. I tried to convince him but even after TD at 150kmph he(infact his TA) didn't agreed, primarily due to the fact that they always recommend or infact other Dzire with Regular(mineral engine oil) but still i believed elevated NVH an aspect based on this & i remain struck on to it.

Since my car was some 16,400 kms old & was in MASC 2.5 months prior to her service specified, so they tried to get it serviced for 20k kms service but, for some obvious reasons.

While discussing the same, came an interesting aspect at SM's PC, that due inavailibility at stock my car's Air filter wasn't replaced at specified 10k kms service, since it's now almost 65% driven over schedule, on inspecting it came out almost dusty & somehow choked.

Since, i wasn't been to MASC for that service, this aspect never came into my mind. Being a petrol car owner previously, this doesn't matter much either but for diesel specially turbocharged high speed/rpm diesel engine, this alongwith engine oil is a crucial aspect.

Finally, on replacing it with all-new one, car is now breathing well with relatively lesser engine but not less as i am used to earlier.

BTW, On asking the details about 20k kms service, estimated serivce bill is around Rs.10k, however around 2-2.2k less if Mineral engine oil is used.

Goenkakushal you're right in this aspect.

OMG !

I've seen the service invoice of your car now.

MG Parts costs are fair but labour costs are way high, which i'll discuss below in this post.

In the list of consumables in invoice, I can see the name of 2 oils being used/billed.

1. MGDO- Maruti Genuine Diesel oil, basically an engine oil. Here it's mineral type, going as per its price.

2. MGGO- Maruti Genuine Gear Oil.

But down later in remarks, they're writing gear oil replacement due.

Please do check this at service centre for its details.

BTW, Mud flap fitting cost however is a joke, as it involves fixing 3 self fixing plastic locks on either sides.

Very right, librankur.

Paid service charges include Washing charges(~Rs.250), engine oil replacement charges, air filter inspecting/replacement charges & general inspection charges.

Brake disc rubbing, brake fluid bleed & like other processes which are quite related are charged high but their costs are calculated from car's stock fully built/grounds up condition not the way they're already opened or they're related.

Here comes interested aspect, since nearby parts are already opened they add up few other processes also beacuse they're earning more & spending lesser time on them because most of these parts are steps of same chain but can be charged independently as per their costs breakup.

11k for Maruti is too much that too with no damage repair/replacement. I though my 8k service at Hyundai was too expensive , nowadays I buy engine oil (that too 5.5lt @ 2300 castrol magnetic D), gear box oil (Castrol long life 80W90 2lt @ 700), fuel filter (@700, hyundai charges same @ 1800) , oil filter (@350) for my parts guy and service it a local HP petrol pump for 450 bucks and they do thorough job of cleaning even underbody and interior.

So @ 4500 I get better service with better oil and don't have to travel to HASS but I do have to stand when they are servicing though. Also for things like rubber bushes and suspension related issue I have to intimate them before and they see the car and order parts but still it is a hell lot cheaper.

I would advice you to try pump service coz normal servicing is not rocket science and you save a lot.

I had written to Maruti about the uneven wear of break pads, They will mostly refund 50% of the break pad cost.

One more thing i wanted to check with New Dzire owners is the Suspension.

I think the suspension Travel of the new dzire is very less , as a result when vehicle is fully loaded while driving on highway and if you go over a bump which is not a pot hole but often just a slight depression on our Indian highways.

The rear suspension seems to run out of breath as in it has a very short suspension travel.

I don't think New Dzire is going to have a difference over the older ones but if it's having then again this might be due to defect in particular car.

You need to analyze this by driving another Dzire also or might be Maruti have changed the component based on cost saving exercise, which they sometime do.

@goenkakusal, you may try below steps to see if it helps

- Go sideways over a large bump (one wheel at a time)

- Try to put in a spacer in suspension so raise GC. It's inexpensive but will slightly alter the dynamics of the car.

Seems that Maruti Suzuki is silently making changes to its mainstream models. Have noticed this in my 2012 Dzire ZDi June make & my neighbour's recently brought April 2014 Dzire VDi.

Have a look at the pics below & do spot the differences in the body lines,

I request everyone to have a look at this & comment on this. Later on we'll discuss & try to relate & conclude our views about this.

Have seen changes in Plastics & material quality over time in production vehicles but have noticed this in body lines also in a car of same make, model & same generation.
