So,I m presenting an ownership report of my Swift VDI in Silky Silver color. His name is Fat Boy.He had done 66900 Km in 29 months 4 days.He is nearing to 67K Mark.

First the selection process before buying Swift

Now Buying Process,

We had booked Swift on January 3rd week, the waiting period was just 25 days.First,we had booked Sunlight Copper, but they don't have SC colour. So,they had Silver in stock and booked it finally in that colour. So,got my Knight on Feb 8th 2010.The dealer was Acer Motors. It was nice experience with them. The SP was Sridhar Reddy.

First Free Service was done at Acer Motors.Odo was 1300Km

Looks like you've maintained it well.. the service intervals say so!

  • Was there any specific trouble with the car at any point in time? Esp. after 40k kms?
  • How is the overall engine condition?
  • Is there too much of black smoke from the exhaust after so many kms on the odo?
  • Are there any other issues you faced that you would like to put up for discussion here?

Also, do post a few pics of your car if you'd like to share.

My Swift (Petrol) is twice the age of your car and has done only 53k kms so far.. will try to post a similar review of my car soon.

Good report !!

60000km in 11 months, it is lot of running on your FAT boy .

Maintenance figures looks to me bit high or they may be correct. Can you give a break up of those please

You said overall you are a happy owner of swift, but tell us how do you feel after 60000 about this car in all aspects

Look forward for pics at present if you wish to share

Nice to see another happy Swift diesel owner.

& Congrats speedman for happy mile munching.

Swifts' are known to be build & drive to last cars.

Two of my friends have also used Swift extensively for their Business runs.

-One of them clocked ~2,25,000kms on his Swift VDi & sold it at 3.90 lacs. Now he bought New Swift ZDi ABS, 2 days before I bought New DZire.

-Another one clocked ~2,40,000kms on his Swift LDi & sold it at 3.90 lacs. Now he bought Toyota Etios LIVA G-D.

Both of them drove their cars without a minor Engine repair, except regular services till the end they sold it.

After hectic dilemma between Yokohama and MRF,finally it is Yokohama A-Drives 185/70R14.I ruled out MRF and Yokohama A-Drives are winner for my father and me.

BTW,Swift had crossed 67500 Km.Now,67600 Km.

Finally I changed my tires to Michelin XM2 185/70R14 after taking advice from my friend. My Michelin's are super silent and smoothest than my stock tires,JK Tornado. And my old tire front left side tire was torn on Sunday and changed the tires of Swift finally.

Price-4875/tire

With 4 tires-4875X4=Rs.19,500.

The dealer of tires was Mohan Chandra. They did there nice work and owner of the shop TD'ed the car after installing tires and after W/A and W/B.

My Father and My Driver drove the car.My Driver drove 3 Km and My Father drove 16 Km.

What an impressive tires001_smile.gif.They reduced Rs.4975 to Rs.4875 by Rs.100 Discount for Michelin.

Overall,nice and amazing tires.eusa_dance.gif

Please give your impression of new tyres in terms of handling, road grip after driving for few kilometers.

Also write about the change from 165 to 185 tyres, because you drove all these days with 165 tyres and you are the best person to tell the difference. Please also check the FE effects.

My car had done 70K Km last month and gave my car for service on yesterday.Reading was 71605 Km.Bit late due to lack of time.Bill is Rs.3445.Sounded too reasonable.Cheaper than Dealer Workshop.Car feels smooth now.I gave at Maruti Authorized Service Station(New Age Motors). They are very prompt and they gave my car at 7pm.I gave the car bit late 2pm and got at 7pm.

Thank you New Age for excellent service :)

The Car is no more with us.We sold him 2 weeks ago.Bought Vento HL TDI 2012 Pre-Worshipped in Terra Beige as a replacement for Swift.Vento had done 12900 Km after getting to us.Now,had done more than 1100 Km in 2 weeks of use. Now,Rocket a.k.a Vento had done 14K Km till now.She is just excellent. But,FE made me worry. It had given 13.5 Km/l in Highway. In City,it is giving more than 13 Km/l.The new owner had installed 70K worth ICE,25K worth Alloys and others.Total,he had spent more than 1L for mods.
