WOW , yet another car with an Automatic gearbox , a High End Diesel AT Variant and also a Mid Range AT Variant ,much like what Ford did with its petrol automatics.Looks stunning but how will it fare when compared to its European rivals ??

Elantra reminds me of Honda Civic when launched. The futuristic design will make other vehicles looks old and outdated.

Best of Luck Hyundai.

This is the time Maruti should scale down Kizashi and introduce the same against Elantra.

Its nice to see that Hyundai is offering AT in both P and D in mid level varients but the big picture is the pricing because if the pricing is anyway near Jetta / Laura then no one is going to buy a Hyundai and rightly so because those 2 cars have solid build quality and suspension tuning that a Hyundai cannot match currently . I think a price point lesser than Cruze is the sweet spot .

With the Cruze churning out 164 Ps wouldn't it be a little too much if the Elantra were to come out with just a 126 PS. I feel it must have received a larger diesel heart. May be they are aiming at the FE conscious. Lets see how this Hyundai D Segmenter does. It would be difficult to convince people to opt for this in place of the top end Diesel Verna.

well, since the chevy cruze was launched, it took away the top slot in its caregory...

True, Elantra's 126bhp is far less than cruze's 166 bhp but atleast itd better than toyota altis's 90 bhp and infact going by the styling of the car both interior and exterior, its a clear winner...

Specially the tail lamps extending from side to all the way backwards is just really awesome...

Well since the diesel hart is smaller than the petrol one, hyundai should keep the prices of both diesel and corresponding petrol variant with a less gap than others... Anything more than 15.8-16L for topend AT diesel would hinder the sales of the new elantra as the person would jump over jetta for its premium brand image and no nonsense executive look...

Main fight for elantra would be with Cruze which rules just because its cheapest among all and offers huge amount of features... if hyundai plays the same game too, they may meet their expectations of selling 1500 units a month of the stylish elantra
