Just Visit this page & you'll know that how many gadgets are there to help you while driving! & according to a great writer V.P. Kale, power should be our servent & we shouldn't power's; A thought came in my mind that one day will come when all we'll able to do is to set our destination on GPS & human'ld have lost pleasure of driving! & Suddenly I came across a discussion on ACI Form about Europians, Americans & Japanies; and I found out that most of the peoples were praising the europians & Japanies for their refinement & technology! & After that I came across this pic on FB!post-7682-0-78018700-1344966207.jpg

With all modern gizmos like ABS & EBD; we are losing the pleasures of drifting,skidding, burn-outs & doununts! Similarly with preloaded programs like Hill assist in Range Rover & expensive SUV, real skill of Off-Roading is left far behind! & all of us were amazed to see Auto Park feature in new VW Passat; but If one uses, this kind of vehicles for long time; I doubt about his driving skills!

I absolutely agree that this gadgets make our life simple & They add a huge safety to our precious life! But just because It's more easy & safe to follow liquid diet; we didn't left our usual eating habbits & Little bit of thrill & risk are necessary part of one's life! & at the end, I want to ask you which group of vehicles out of this two would you prefer;

Group A

without the advent of these technologies driving was the domain of a few ,i.e ,you woudnt buy a big car just because it would be hard to park , etc , now anyone can drive any car , thus boosting car sales , car company want numbers and these features give them those numbers at an added cost.

Driving isn't Rocket Science!

As long as some basic gadgetry, such as Power-Steering & Airbags are helpful to driver in passive manner!

But features like auto-park & adaptive cruise- controll are spoiling our skills!

You are right, that some attraction is nessesary to attract the customers & increase the car sale, so we can't blame them! But it's the responsiblity of owners of such a high-tech cars. that they must keep their driving skills intact!

I agree. Technology is dumbing down our skills as a driver. But you have to accept the fact that this relentless march of progress is for our own benefit (in most cases). I admit that a few innovations like park-assist are utterly useless but others like ABS, EBD, traction control can and do save lives. Besides, the Government cares more about your safety than your driving pleasure, so like it or not these features will slowly but surely become part and parcel of our lives (you should be happy that you are not in the US or Europe where most of these features are mandatory). However if you are a purist and derive pleasure out of driving you can always switch off the TC and ABS :P

You need an old muscle car with loads of torque.

I guess it happens in one of the Fast Furious movies where Vin Diesel is shown to wheelie an old mustang.

I think that was Dodge Chaillenger & There should be a way to perform same with small & cheap modern cars like esteem or contesa!

No one will dare to perform such tricks on there Brand-New Mustang or there classic Charger!
