PrancingHorse 1 Report post Posted October 15, 2012 Here are scoop pics of the Nissan Urvan caught testing in Chennai sent to us by an Autocar India reader . Looks like we might see a launch soon. The Urvan is sold as commercial cargo mover as well as micro bus with seating configurations from 8 seater to 14 seater in Asian markets. In the Philippines, the Urvan comes with a 3.0 litre 4 cylinder diesel engine putting out 105 horsepower and 209 Nm of torque. Lets see what engine comes to India. BonFre 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2012 So its raining vans now! If nothing else this will divert attention of fleet operators from passenger vehicles. Such spacious solutions are actually very comfortable. Hope Nissan doesn't plonk the sole diesel unit they are having in India!Period.
AMG1 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2012 1.5 DCI would be too small for this, maybe Nissan might need two of them to make this actually move! The prime question is that where will Nissan position this? Below or above the Evalia?
325i 1 Report post Posted October 16, 2012 Urvan a much bigger vehicle and more likely to compete with Force's Traveller. Engine capacity would be atleast 2.5 litre diesel. Looks like it will be only for commercial market.

The prime question is that where will Nissan position this? Below or above the Evalia? It would be silly to launch this with a 1.5. Clearly impossible. A 2.0 or a 2.5 litre engine is more like it. It will be positioned above the Evalia for sure because of its size. Should be a hit with the tourist/hotel industry. That van can sure take a lotta people. Sstar 77 Report post Posted October 16, 2012 this is just going to be Tempo Traveller alternative...and will not make impact in individual buyer market
AMG1 0 Report post Posted October 1, 2013 I am sure this will do better than Evalia in our market. Evalia has had an identity crisis in India for sure and now the Stile coming below it. Evalia is even in a bigger soup.
