The looks of the SUV has less aggression than the model it replaces.

The angry looking face is toned down and the way the front fenders flow into the bumper is unique. The headlamps, grill and lines on the bonnet add to the looks.

On the side, the shape of the roof line is same as the previous Outlander while the rear quarter glass and the D pillar have different shapes. The shoulder crease is now accentuated and sharp.

The rear of the car looks wider than before and the rear windscreen is now slightly tapered. The interconnected tail lamp cluster is an interesting touch. The revised interiors look better and is finished in matte and glossy black and silver.

The new Outlander comes loaded with safety features like forward collision mitigation, lane departure warning and adaptive cruise control, active stability control and seven airbags. The car is packed till the brim with features such as keyless entry and go, start/stop system, hill start assist, dual zone climate control, multimedia system with navigation.

The Mitsubishi Outlander is powered by either a 148 bhp 2.0 litre or a 170 bhp 2.4 litre MIEV petrol engine which are very fuel efficient, thanks to the Outlander’s low drag coefficient of 0.33. Both the engines are mated to a CVT gearbox with six pre-fixed ratios.

The new Mitsubishi Outlander retails in four variants with a price range of 2.4 million Yen (around Rs. 16.21 lakhs to 3.1 million Yen (around Rs. 20.93 lakhs).

Slipping in the Pajero Sport’s diesel engine will make the new Mitsubishi Outlander a very competitive car!

The front face looks like the Pajero Sport, not a bad thing.

To me even the current gen Outlander in India is a very competent product.

It's justloosing out due to no diesel option. In India, SUV/MUV = diesel

If Mitsubishi can plonk diesel mill in it and price competitively (< 20 L) then it should see some success.

I think going by the above picture the wheels need spacers & some beefier tyres :P

^ But i think the Pajero Sport is taking care of that

And yes finally the Outlander sees an 7 seat config.

This is one awesome vehicle. Mitsubishi could have sold the present Outlande in respectable numbers had they offered a diesel mill & kept a decent tag. Hope they give the new Outlander whenever it arrives a fighting chance.

For now Mitsubishi dealers are a bewildered lot!

Seriously, In a market like India, where packing is more important than item itself; it's a fact of shame, that Mitsubishi dealers can't sell such a beauty, which is technically sound too! Lets forget diesel SUVs, but it can't even stand infront of Honda CRV, that's really shocking!

Ewwwww.... :o

What the hell they've done to the Gorgeous Evo-like Outlander !

Though Interiors are a leap ahead of current-gen but its exteriors with massive over-overhangs & pouchy rear, this one looks hell infront of that current exceptional looking Outlander.

Sir, this is what I felt too after glancing it. The present Outlander is miles ahead of this design. Infact I can safely say that it is one of the best looking SUVs in India right now. The present Outlander with a diesel engine(or any diesel mill that fit its engine bay) of the Pajero Sport with 140 bhp and seven seat options would do wonders for Mitsubishi, rather than launching the above eww looking SUV.

@F30/KarthickB, current Outlander in India is already sold with 7 seat configuration (not sure though how good is the last row).

So all they need is to put in a diesel engine and price it competitively.
